Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

Reggie Bush was considered all but certain to be a salary cap casualty for the New Orleans Saints thanks to his $11.8 million salary for 2011 ... until they managed to trade him to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday morning.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports inititally reported the news (very) early on Thursday morning and the Miami Herald's Jeff Darlington confirmed the news, reporting that 'Fins GM Jeff Ireland wanted to "sleep on it."

Well, it looks like Ireland's awake now, and Bush is Miami-bound, as reports now indicate that Bush signed off on a two-year deal with the Dolphins.

Bush could be motivated to prove that he can indeed succeed as the featured back on a roster, which a move to Miami would likely let him do -- he and Daniel Thomas would theoretically provide a one-two punch in South Beach.

Plus he now get a fresh start -- things got ugly after the Saints decided to draft another former Heisman winner in Mark Ingram and Bush awkwardly tweeted "it's been fun" afterwards.

The running back market now changes dramatically, as the Dolphins were expected to compete for Ahmad Bradshaw and Ronnie Brown. Their decision to trade for Bush should allow inflation on running backs to sink a bit.

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

he scored 33 times in 60 games   with limited touches.    Ask Drew Brees   why he didnt win SB this year   big part is what bush does to defenses  not just the stats.   He makes them think on every play  This is a good deal  the got him for 5 mil a year and gave up a back up Saftey.  I love this trade

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

I couldn't agree more with Warren Sapp!  Reggie Bush is all show and no go, and now people will get a chance to see that, if they couldn't before.  Give me Ronnie Brown or Ricky WIlliams any-day over this clown.

I'm NOT gonna stop with the wild cat thing, because it WORKS whether ppl want to believe it or not, you can't completely shut it down you can only hope to contain it.

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

I absolutely  love this deal.   They need to bring back   ricky or ronnie  or both   and run wild on people.  Bush will help henne in the passing game.  No matter who jets sign they can't cover all these guys.   Bess Marshel and Bush is scary.   Try to trade for Greg olson and really sure up this offense./

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

Stop with the wildcat talk, already.  That was not an offense, it was a desperate attempt to get the best offensive playmakers on the field together.  It only made sense with Ronnie, Ricky and Patrick Cobbs while the 'Fins had no wr's.  No one (with the possible exception of Urban Meyer) would do that on purpose on a regular basis.  Do you really think BOTH the dolphins and Broncos will give up on the passing game and install the option this year?  I don't!

Warren Sapp doesn't know squat, he's paid to make these kind of statements whether they are true or not, and in this case it is NOT gonna be true, trust me Miami will figure out a way to place him in that wild cat offense.  I was even hoping we'd maybe even get a guy like Terell Pryor to put in there as the wild cat QB, the whole Pat White thing didn't work out simply because he's way undersized to play that position.  You put Pryor in there and OMG that would be just an amazing thing to see, :)

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

I'm a Dolphins fan, but if we get Vince Young I'm throwing in the towel on this organization.  VY is NOT a good QB, he makes too many mistakes.  I'd much rather get a Kyle Orton than a Vince Young any day.  At least Orton doesn't make the big mistake that VY does.  We need to keep either Ricky or Ronnie to play with Bush now, I really don't even care which one of the two, and if we keep both then I guess we know who our return man is gonna be this coming year, :) .

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

Last week on NFL Network Warren Sapp had this to say about Reggie Bush:  "He's a hood ornament on the Masarati called 'Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints' offense'.  When he goes anywhere else he's going to be more exposed than he already is."    All I could think when I heard that was "wow".
