Ochocinco, BelichickPosted by Josh Katzowitz

With the fan vitriol at a high level in Cincinnati and with his apparent feud with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis escalating, it make senses if WR Chad Ochocinco wanted to leave the city. And, for that matter, if the Bengals wanted him to leave.

Well, it’s happening.

According to Local 12’s Brad Johansen -- formerly the play-by-play announcer for the Bengals until he was unceremoniously dumped before the lockout -- Ochocinco has been traded to the Patriots for a draft pick.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Joe Reedy, Ochocinco’s contract had been renegotiated to a three-year deal before the deal was made.

The Bengals were slated to pay Ochocinco $6 million this year, but his skills declined last year, and with Terrell Owens in the same locker room, the two receivers weren’t very conducive to a cohesive team unit.

Ochocinco has been clamoring for a trade for the past few seasons. He finally has received his wish.

Considering the Redskins traded troubled DT Albert Haynesworth to the Patriots earlier today, you have to wonder how much ego New England coach Bill Belichick now will have to massage.

UPDATED 9:47 a.m.: As CBSSports.com's Clark Judge writes, the Patriots reportedly will send the Bengals a fifth-round pick in 2012 and a sixth-round pick in 2013.

Ochocinco traded by Bengals to Patriots

I assumed it absolutely was likely to be some unexciting older submit, nevertheless it truly compensated for my time. I'll publish a web site website link to this web page on my blogging site. I am convinced my site visitors will learn that very beneficial

They could sign a 21 year old Jerry Rice, they aren't going anywhere in the air v. the Jets

Boyce, they now have Branch, Welker, Ocho, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Woodhead and Tate. Your boys, Revis and Co. 'aint gonna cover them all !

And I seemed to remember a Monday night 49-3 spanking in which the Pats and Brady moved through the air vs. the Jets quite easily.

    • The 2005 Seattle Seahawks held the record for Most Points Scored (564) in a single season as well as Highest Scoring Team (45.6 PPG) in a single season until the 2007 season when the New England Patriots took those records.
Rockety, how much time to you spend making up random stats?  Um, 564 divided by 16 doesn't come out to 45.6 points.  OF COURSE it doesn't.  Because it's IMPOSSIBLE for a team that NEVER scored more than 42 points to average 45.6.  The Seahawks did lead the league in scoring that year, but the averaged 28 points, not 45.6.  Seriously, I can't believe you posted this and expected people to believe it was true.  The 2007 Patriots scored a ton more points than the 2005 Seahawks, but they also didn't come close that that fantasy number you came up with.  45.6?!?  Is this AFL?

Maybe the biggest thing the 2005 Seahawks and 2007 Patriots had in common was losing in the Super Bowl.

Bengals are indeed working on a downward spiral again.   The trade the only WR that has shown he can be a #1 WR and at the same time say the QB is out of control because the management does not bring in the right talent...Carson Palmer is right.

"Just a little history for you;

  • The Seahawks just signed Tavaris jackson to a starting QB job.  They also signed Sidney Rice, but as Houshmanzadeh realized last year; unfortunately, you can't throw it to yourself.

  • The 2005 Seattle Seahawks held the record for Most Points Scored (564) in a single season as well as Highest Scoring Team (45.6 PPG) in a single season until the 2007 season when the New England Patriots took those records."

Where did you get that little tid-bit of info.  That's completely inaccurate.  The Seahawks were never remotely within sniffing distance of those scoring marks.  They scored 452 pts in 2005, not 564.

Anyone who doesn't think Belichick isn't a hell of a coach doesn't know much about the game of football. As I stsed before I'm by no means a Pats fan but I respect their coach,he makes his players toe the line, takes no s*** from any player and if youv'e seen him in interviews away from the field he seems to be a good decent man with a sense of humor.
