It was just a few hours ago when we told you that the Bears had put TE Greg Olsen on the trading block, as agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted that Chicago was willing to be very “reasonable” in who they got for swapping Olsen.
The Panthers have taken the Bears up on the deal.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Olsen is on his way to Carolina in exchange for a player (not likely named Steve Smith) and for an undisclosed draft pick.
Olsen caught 41 passes last year for 404 yards and five touchdowns, and he’ll join a crowded tight end group in Carolina with Jeremy Shockey and Ben Hartsock already on the roster.

TE Olsen traded to Panthers for draft pickIt's likely one of the RBs, either Stewart or Goodson, since DAW got the big contract.You are out of your ever-lovin'-mind if you think Greg Olsen is worth Jonathan Stewart, much less Jonathan Stewart AND a draft pick. If the Panthers were looking to deal Stewart there would be significantly better offers on the table for him. |

The guy is probably their deadly weapon and they're wasting him at WR. it's gotta be hard to play wideout and then go and try to return a kick. He's gotta be gassed by the 3rd quarter. They need to leave him where he does damage. Watching him single-handedly kill the Broncos a couple of years ago was unbelievable.

TE Olsen traded to Panthers for pick and a playerYeah, that's what the Bears needed...less passing threats. Why does everyone think that Martz is some kind of offensive genius? He rode the coattails of Dick Vermeil. Vermeil was doing the same thing in Kansas City as he did in St. Louis because he was the genius. So far Martz has failed at every stop and destroyed the offenses in the process. Olsen is a good TE and it sucks that Denver didn't go after him, but Denver isn't going after anybody.
