On Saturday, we brought you the news that Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder as he revealed himself and his disease to South Florida Sun Sentinel writer Omar Kelly in a piece that was extremely very well done.

On Sunday, Marshall participated in a news conference with the rest of the Dolphins scribes.

Give a look and a listen in the video featured at Shutdown Corner. Fascinating -- and courageous -- stuff from a wide receiver who we now know might be the most misunderstood player in the league.

Thanks, Josh. You got it exactly right. Not only is Borderline Personality Disorder a real illness, it is shared by 5.9% of our population or 18 million people, according to NIMH. Brandon Marshall was very fortunate to get to top experts at McLean Hospital who could diagnose and treat his illness. The central issue in BPD is problems dealing with intense emotions. Emotions often control the person, not the other way around. The most important news regarding this illness is that it is now highly treatable. Evidence-based therapy such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps those with the disorder to regulate their emotions. No one condones bad behavior, but the most effective thing is to treat the cause. I appreciate how the Dolphins have handled this.

I'd love to see someone pull this at my office.  Uh you would have HR on you in a second then security escorting you out with a box filled with your things.  It ends with you in the rubber room wearing one of this white suits with buckles on the back.  I know I know I'm fascinating and courageous to post this and hey I don't even play in the NFL.  Now pay me!

Marshall is a gangster thug.  If it wasn't for him Darrent Williams probably wouldn't have been shot.  Personality disorder is an excuse for bad behavior.  I wonder how many people are buying it?
