Terrelle Pryor sets up Pro Day for Friday

Since we know for sure that the NFL supplemental draft will be held Aug. 17, now we’d like to figure out if former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor actually can participate in it.

We don’t know for sure yet, but SportsXchange’s Len Pasquarelli is reporting Pryor’s acting as if he’ll be good to go, setting up a Pro Day for himself this Friday, Aug. 12, somewhere in the Pittsburgh area.

Apparently, Pryor prefers to work out on an artificial turf field, and since he’s persona non grata at Ohio State, he’ll stick to the area near his hometown in order to show himself in front of the NFL’s scouts.

If he ends up in the NFL supplemental draft, Pryor probably will be no better than a mid-round pick, though he has said he doesn’t care if he’s a first-round or a seventh-round selection.

On Monday, former Georgia RB Caleb King -- who was academically ineligible for the Bulldogs this season-- will hold his Pro Day in Athens.

H/T to the Bear Report.

Perfectly stated!!!  I wouldn't mind seeing him with my Steelers - can't be worse than Dennis Dixon.

MikeD5405, The difference between them is definitely not night and day. Arm strength is a draw, size is a draw, mobility is a draw, and speed would slightly favor TP. The main difference between the two is the college system they played in. Auburn's system was more flashy and geared towards Cam accumulating stats while Ohio State's system was run-first with TP basically having 3rd down to make a play. With that being said, it is absolutely mind boggling that somebody would prefer Cam with that great of a margin over TP. TP would have flourished just as Cam did in Auburn's system. Interesting side note: In their common opponent Arkansas, TP had 336 yards of total offense & Cam had 328 yards of total offense. Not much of a difference there. To say they are night and day in difference is either an SEC bias or an OSU hatred.... my guess is both. Have a nice day everyone!!
This might win the most ignorant post of the year on these boards..............

Arm Strength is a draw??!?!?!  Really????  One guy has a cannon and can make every throw needed at the next level -- Newton.  One guy needs work on his mechanics, has trouble throwing outs or passing into a window and has a long delivery on deep passes -- Pryror.

I guess in your eyes every scout and NFL team must hate OSU too, as they have done nothing but point out the deficiencies in Pryor's game since the end of last year.

I don't feel like pulling the stats back up for Pryor against the top 3 defenses he faced last year -- I'll just do it off the top of my head:
He completed like 48% of his passes with 5 tds and 5 ints.  he threw for around 140 yards per game.  if you go back to his first two years -- you would see the EXACT same thing.  he puts up numbers against weaker defenses, but against better defenses -- he struggles.  This is playing against a Big Ten schedule.

To say Pryor and Newton are on the same level is humorous.  Arm Strength isn't even close between the two.  Intelligence isn't even close between the two.  You talk about OSU offense being a run first team, yet Troy Smith won a heisman playing in the EXACT same system.  Pryor was only even mentioned because he lived off the hype of his #1 recruit out of high school standing.  The guy will only see the field on Sunday's as a wildcat QB or a TE.  He will NEVER be a starting QB in the NFL, unless the team he is on is down to the last QB on the roster and it is him.

I can't think of any college bad boys who performed well in the National Football League.  Mo Claret did pine time in the 'pen, Brian Bosworth is better known as Bo Jackson's Monday Night Football b!tch and Lawrence Phillips 'nuff said.  Besides, I can guarantee the N.F.L. is NOT searching this thread for any information of Pryor's potential.
