Childress: Moss 'vomited' on Vikings locker room

ChildressPosted by Josh Katzowitz

It’s the best quote from former Vikings coach Brad Childress that you’ll probably ever see. But hey, WR Randy Moss -- supposedly retired these days -- brings out the best in just about everybody, even the coach who he sorta, kinda helped get fired.

While talking to NFL.com about Moss, who was handed to the Vikings last season after the Patriots decided they didn’t need him anymore, Childress said this about his former WR: "We had good guys, by and large [but Moss] walked in the locker room and vomited on it."

Yikes, right?

Childress went on to say that perhaps he should have consulted owner Zygi Wilf before deciding to cut Moss, and that didn’t help his standing with the person who had the power to fire him (it also didn’t help matter that Childress wasn’t exactly known as a people-person and that he had led the team to a 3-7 record when he was canned).

"I should have gone up the chain," Childress said.

Childress obviously had no idea the situation would become so bad, especially when he first talked to Moss about playing in Minnesota.

"He called me and said, 'I can't wait, I can't wait. I feel like I'm coming home again,'" Childress said.

Instead, Moss caught 13 passes in four games and helped get his coach fired before he ended up as an irrelevant bench player in Tennessee. Now, both are out of work, and their return as a viable player and as a future NFL head coach is questionable.

"sounds like he is blaming Moss because he sucks as a couch"...

Maybe Chilly makes a better table? Or chair? He does suck as a couch though.

I guess the saying,'' You can't teach an old Dog new Tricks" is true in Childress case. He don't even get it that this is the same reason he got canned. I guess he have not figured out that not one single league wants him not even the Little Tykes Football League.

Classless coach makes a classless statement about a classless player. Lose, lose, lose.

Childress: Moss 'vomited' on Vikings locker room

Childress was hated by his players and is there any wonder why?  Instead of keeping his mouth shut for enough time for us to forget how he lost his team, he decided to talk smut about a guy who by all accounts was great in the locker room.  We all know that Randy Moss was a prima donna, but Childress created a rift in the locker room by publically courting Farve while naming Tavaras Jackson the startet.  To blame Moss for dividing the locker room is Childress not taking responsiblity for his own actions.  My guess is that Childress will neverbe a head  coach again and at best will be relegated to the booth where he has less interaction with people.

Childress: Moss 'vomited' on Vikings locker room

Wow!!! This guy really and truly wants out of football forever!!! No team in their right mind would employ a person like Childress after a ridiculous statement like this. It's probably a good thing that Childress revealed his true character and quite literally showed everyone why so very many Vikings players hated him. "Control Freak" doesn't even come close to the division he caused in the entire Vikings organization. Don't forget either that a certain Hall Of Fame quarterback, who "knew something about offense," bit his tongue maybe more than any other player on the team when it came to some of the idiotic decisions Childress made during the course of the two seasons he was with the Vikings.  Maybe folks ought to remember that even though he was the "offensive coordinator" with the Eagles, Andy Reed called the plays because he couldn't trust Childress not to do something ridiculous at a critical time. Classless and clueless doesn't begin to describe this man and maybe someday someone like Donovan McNabb will tell much more about the real Brad Childress.

honestly, who cares what a failure of a coach has to say? childress must be dumber than I thought....he was the idiot that brought Moss back.  The only person dumber than Chilly is Wilf who hired him.

Childress is a paranoid control freak who couldn't coach a Pop Warner team.  Randy Moss is a classless devisive prima donna receiver who could only run one route.  Hope to never hear or see either one of them in the NFL again.  Good riddance!
