We already told you that the trial for Albert Haynesworth on a misdemeanor sexual assault charge was set to commence Tuesday. Apparently, that no longer will be necessary.

According to the Washington Post, Haynesworth has changed his plea from not guilty of sexual assault to a no contest plea of simple assault. Instead of serving what could have been a six-month jail stint if he had been found guilty, he will serve 160 hours of community service.

Also part of the agreement: Haynesworth must undergo an alcohol abuse and a psychological assessment within 18 months. If he does that, his record will be cleared. He also must stay from the alleged victim.

On his way into the courtroom, Haynesworth didn't comment when questioned by reporters, but he did manage to let loose a "Go Patriots!"

Going to be funny watching reaction of all these Pats fans saying he'll be gone by the end of the week.  When  they realize it's not going to happen.  I bet we get at least 1 or 2 posts saying Pat's are helping him with his personal redemption getting his life back in order!  Is it hard to admit your team doesn't have anymore of a problem with putting criminals on the field then any other team?

Dude,

It doesn't even matter to what extent of the un-warrented touching happed. The Fat SH$T head should be doing crap that is morally wrong and or illegal. You can tell he played in Washington DC, he is acting like a damn politician. The Pats need to dump his butt in the street and let him get a job that he would actually have to work hard at to make a living.

Let's just pretend for a second that this waitress didn't recognize fat albert, know the means he's gone to financially to escape bad situations, and figure on getting him to do something he didn't want to answer questions about so he'd reach for his checkbook.  The only guy to ever get a glimmer of potential out of Haynesworth is Jeff Fisher and he's not coaching this year so expect more trouble in a different city.
