ShockeyPosted by Josh Katzowitz

Panthers tight end Ben Hartsock is real thankful for Jeremy Shockey today. That’s because Shockey came to the quick rescue of Hartsock when he began choking while eating lunch at the team facility.

Hartsock was eating pork tenderloin when a piece of the meat got caught in his throat, as the National Football Post recounts. Hartsock drank water to try to dislodge the obstruction, but it soon became clear to teammates that he couldn’t breathe.

“He started to go to the bathroom and I don’t know if he collapsed, but he couldn’t breathe,” agent Mike McCartney told the NFP. “Some new guy came and tried to give him the Heimlich. It didn’t work. Then, Shockey hit him in the back pretty hard and out came the meat. The Panthers told me it was really scary.

“Ben told me, ‘Shockey came over and gave me the Heimlich Maneuver and saved my life.’ He was in good spirits and he’s real thankful for Shockey.”

So, there you go: Jeremy Shockey, hero.

But my favorite part of the story (you know, other than the fact Hartsock is alive and breathing)? It’s what the Panthers repeatedly said to Hartsock at practice afterward: “Don’t choke, Hartsock.” Hopefully it’s a zinger that Hartsock and Shockey can laugh at for a long time.

Yes new day and it's really sad when you sent up a really good joke and pull it off and some biddy has to come along and try to take it serious. What a buzzkill.

It's one think not to find a joke funny. It was not vulgar but did get a few smiles. But to take it as serious post? Get a clue.

Or even worse, don't even take the time to READ the full post. That's why I can take a whole day to give out hell for spoiling a good farce

Fool, Shockey WAS NOT CHOKING!

IT was his teammate. Shockey would hardly be able to slap himself on the back. Maybe you could.

Did you really just waste all that text on a simple slip of the tongue?  You know what I meant you dope, and besides, that isn't the point.

The point is that you're an idiot who knows nothing about first aid or choking but tried to give people advice on the subject.  You then got called on it and are getting thoroughly destroyed.

NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT PUKING OUT!

READ MORON!

Here we go again:

How come the "Heimlich Maneuver" always gets all the pub as the go to move when in reality hitting to the back or fingers in the mouth to barf if up often work just as well or better?

The more you type and try to argue, the worse it gets for you.  In fact, I'm beginning to think you're mentally challenged.  Are you mentally challenged?  Because if you are I'll stop.

I'm smart.  You're dumb.  I'm an expert on the subject and you're a loudmouth, ignorant buffoon.

You do not stand a chance against me and the numerous pummellings I've given you demonstrates that.

Now do yourself a favor and stop before you hurt your teeny, tiny little brain.

bear boy you still can't get the story right. Somehow you wish to put your limited knowledge into the mix for people who saw this with their own eyes.

BUT AT LEAST START BY READING THE STORY !

Most likely Shockey was not truly choking.  If he was, a slap on the back would have done nothing.  On most occasions, and likely this one as well, the obstruction is lodged not in the trachea, but in the esophogus which would explain why "puking it out" clears the food.

Fool, Shockey WAS NOT CHOKING!

READ MORON!

The guidelines I was refering to were from First Aid guideline for school district when my kids were young.

Of course, since you think you know all , you prove you know nothing.

When I said "leave it to the professionals" I was referring to medical advice.  Clearly you should take your God complex back to your sad little life.

You don't know what the f you're talking about and you got called out on it by someone who does.  In short, you got owned.  Hopefully you're at least smart enough to learn a lesson from this

And next time you claim you will not debate a point any more, save yourself.
