NFL fans and the media have a weird obsession with the Wonderlic, the intelligence test given to prospective professional football players. Most folks care way too much about the test, when there's no guarantee that Wonderlic success will relate to NFL success.

But whenever someone puts a ridiculously low (or high) score out there, it usually warrants some discussion. Like Terrelle Pryor's reported score of seven.

Yes, seven.

That's according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, who set Twitter on fire when he reported the score and pointed to it as the reason "why Terrelle Pryor made so many on-, off-field bad decisions at Ohio State."

Such an assumption seems a bit presumptuous, especially since the Wonderlic isn't scientifically indicative of how much merchandise someone will give away for free tattoos. (The jury's still out on that one.)

But if Pryor indeed scored a seven, it's a bit embarrassing. Vince Young once posted a six on his Wonderlic (reportedly) and he did, um, just fine.

Additionally, it's believed that an average score for a quarterback on the Wonderlic is about a 24, and teams would prefer a 21. But plenty of successful quarterbacks -- ahem, Dan Marino -- have posted lower scores than that.

Plus, as we all know, Pryor is a wide receiver.

And besides, as long as he's not scoring the exact number that JaMarcus Russell scored, the Raiders are probably thrilled.

Hey WARBIRD, learn to spell "affirmative", "college", and "intelligent", and then maybe, maybe we wouldn't just simply write you off as the toothless, racist, overalls wearing rube that you are.  duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

He scored a 21 the second time he took it.  But cbs never reports anything good about Ohio based players or teams.

Some guy Tweets it and now its the spoken truth.  And who cares if he did, last I saw he was getting paid to play football not be a front office executive.  He's under contract and as long as he plays his position on the field, QB or receiver or water boy for that matter, he's on the team.  I'm getting tired of the MEDIA playing up these players while they are in college and then killing them in the Pro's, this jerk and oh who's that guy in Denver?  How about telling ESPN and everyone else to let us know when these kids are in college that they will be a bust in the Pro's and maybe their college coach will cut them so we have to listen to this for you any more.

This kid got into college? Oh Wait, he's an athlete, I guess having guys get a free ride who are probably going to make millions in the NFL is better than giving the kids who work hard only to amass a huge debt and actually have to apply to college/jobs a free ride. I feel like there is some sort of irony here, but I can't quite seem to put my finger on it. /sarcasm
