Dunta Robinson should face suspension
With all the new rules about head-hunting and helmet-to-helmet hits, you’d think that the only time a player would break that rule is if it was bang-bang play that was purely accidental. Especially if that person is already a repeat offender.
Dunta Robinson got nailed with a fine last year after a massive helmet-to-helmet hit on DeSean Jackson (which you can see in the video below), which resulted in a Jackson concussion.
Robinson got hit with a $50,000 fine that was later reduced, and everything was forgiven, right? Robinson even called Jackson to apologize.
That goodwill disappeared tonight when Robinson led with his helmet into the jaw of Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin that was so blatant and so nasty that the officials would not have been wrong to eject him from the game. In fact, that’s exactly what they should have done.
Maclin had to come out for a short time, but he returned soon after. It’s a good thing he wasn’t hurt more seriously, or the Internet outrage against Robinson would have been even more intense. For good reason. And though I don’t usually root for the commissioner to take large chunks of money from a player’s paycheck, here’s hoping that Robinson gets hit with a monster fine (in the six-figure range?) and a suspension.
At this point, he’s earned it, and he needs to be stopped.

Dunta Robinson should face suspensionBottom line on this perticular play he WAS head hunting.. One of the 1st things they teach you in football is when your making a tackle to NOT lean with your helmet.. Dirty play all the way around he should also be suspended, and receive a 100,000 dollar fine |

Dunta Robinson should face suspensionJust cause Phillys weak A$$ corners can't hit doesn't make Robinson the bad guy. He barely touched Maclins face mask and didn't even leave the ground with both feet. The way i look at it, it made Maclin a little nervous to catch that last pass over the middle to extend the game. Maclin hearing the foot steps. Philly stop crying like a bunch of B!tches and take your bloody mouth dog killa with ya

Dunta Robinson should face suspensionTo say that this was just "football" is really funny to me. Robinson led with his head and nearly launched himself into Maclin. Thankfully it didn't end up as bad as it could have. I am a fan of big hits and I agree that the game is changing (not favorably) but the fact remains that the hit was illegal and he will have to live with the consequences. I don't know if it was done with malice or not and don't care to speculate. I wound't think that suspension would be needed but he is not a "first-time offender". I don't like the idea of making him out to be some type of criminal because honestly he is the only person that knows what HIS intentions were. Just glad it put Maclin down. Just my opinion! |
