Michael Vick injury is hand contusion, not break

Well, here's something new: Michael Vick's broken right hand isn't actually broken and instead a misread X-ray. Also new: something is going OK for the Eagles.

Yesterday, we wrote that Vick left the game against New York with a broken hand. What actually happened, according to Andy Reid at his press conference Monday afternoon, is that a swollen blood vessel was sitting on top of the hand bone and made it appear as if Vick suffered a fracture.

"Blood vessel sitting over the bone, made it look like there's a fracture," Reid said.

That's why the Eagles believed Vick broke his hand, although there's no real explanation for where the report on Monday morning about Vick missing three to four weeks with a broken hand came from.

It's tremendous news for Philadelphia, because it means that Vick, despite suffering a concussion in Week 2, should be OK to return as soon as this week, though it's possible that the contusion causes him to miss time if the swelling in his hand doesn't subside.

But as Clark Judge pointed out on Sunday night, losing Vick is the least of Philly's problems. They have a nightmare in terms of offensive line issues, and it's become quite obvious that all the free-agent signings in the world can't mask the defensive problems they have at linebacker and safety.

Also not helping? The Eagles upcoming three-game stretch -- versus the 49ers, at the Bills and at the Redskins -- went from "cakewalk" to "toughest stretch of their season" faster than Philly's offensive line can give up a quarterback pressure.

@I977 Yankees you are a funny guy first off let me apologize to the administator of this site for turning this post into a race debate but when you talk about Vick somehow it always goes there. Now let me start with this White people have committed the most hanious atrocities of evil that the world has ever seen between the catholic church and the crusades the holocost the invasion of Africa and the murder, rape and enslavement of the african people, the invasion of North America the theft, deception, murder, rape and enslavement of the Native American people. The Civil Rights Era the Lynching,Raping,Murduring,False Imprisonment,Cross Burning, Alabama Church Bombing with the murder of 4 little girls, Apartheid in South Africa, the Tuskegee Experiment where unsuspecting black men where injected with sphyliss,The introduction of crack cocaine and aids into the inner city by the FBI. Down to the theft lies and deception that are sold today to everyone including whites Enron,Madolf,American Banking System ,The Bush Administration and there lies about 911 Hurricane Katrina, Weapons of Mass Destruction all for the american public to sign off on a war that sent thousands of american kids white, black, latino, asian to die or be mangled for the profit of oil. Down to the individual evilness Insest, rape, child molestation, child trafficking and pornography, serial killing, mass killings(school shootings) murdering of parents, molestations of little boys in the catholic church, suicides, white collar theft, kidnapping whites all lead in that catagory. And as for drug users Meth has taken over Crack as the most dangerous and most used drug in America mostly used and processed by whites in rural areas. And as for Lazyness there are just as many spoiled 21 to 30 year old white boys that live at home with there parents rent free with no Jobs believe me I know. But for as many bad white people in the world there are tremendously good& great white people in the world just as there are blacks, latinos, asians etc judge people for how you know them and what they stand for not for what is perceived or what you think u know about them based on stereotypes.
