Brandon Jacobs doesn't care if you never believed in the Giants. (US PRESSWIRE)

Posted by Ryan Wilson

Not many people outside of New York figured the battered Giants stood much of a chance Sunday against the self-anointed Dream Team, division rival Philadelphia. So naturally, the Giants jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and won going away, 29-16.

The Eagles looked more like the Washington Generals, and quarterback Michael Vick was forced from the game with a bruised hand and plenty to say about the state of NFL officiating.

Meanwhile, the Giants, now 2-1, are tied with the Cowboys and Redskins for the best record in the NFC East. (The Dream Team is 1-2.) And New York running back Brandon Jacobs has a few words for the doubters.

"The people outside that want to say they're fans and don't believe in us, I couldn't care less if they ever believed in us," Jacobs said, according to the New York Daily News. "They don't mean anything to us if they didn't believe in us. They can go back and finish living their miserable lives as they've been living and hoping that they lose and whatever."

Jacobs, who has a reputation as something of a hot head, wasn't finished. "In this locker room, guys are ready to play," he said. "And I look in a lot of guys' eyes and see that they're ready to go ... The only thing that matters is the people that's on this football team and in this organization."

In less incendiary news, the Giants could have Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck in the lineup against the Cardinals Sunday. Umenyiora hasn't yet played this season after undergoing knee surgery during training camp, and Tuck has missed practice this week because of groin and neck issues. Head coach Tom Coughlin said he was "optimistic" about Tuck's availability in Arizona, though, in regards to Umenyiora, would only allow that “We’re going to have to watch and see how he comes back.”

One thing's for certain, however: Jacobs doesn't care what you think.

Jacobs: skeptics can return to 'miserable lives'

I'm sure I missed this somewhere but wasn't VY the only one who referenced Dream Team? Jacobs has never been terribly impressive in my opinion. He is a bruiser and a goal line option. He had a good week last week and people all all over him again and I'm not sure why. Play at a high level consistently and then maybe you can make a case. This was painful to watch as an Eagles fan.

Jacobs, you are a 2nd string back no matter how much you cry to a MUCH BETTER BACK in Ahmad Bradshaw. So keep riding the pine and let Bradshaw do all the work while you steal his touches at the 1 yard line. Want to know why Jacobs gets so upset with "fans that don't matter?" Because he has to hear them boo him because he is so close to the stands on the bench all game long!

Jacobs: skeptics can return to 'miserable lives'

Back up Running Back with fumbling issues on a mediocre team that beats divison rival who was playing their 3rd string QB. Woo hooo!! Gotta love the last sentence, "One thing's for certain, however: Jacobs doesn't care what you think", good for him. Memo to Brandon Jacobs, no one cares what you think!  It's not like your good or anything.

Yeaaaaah b/c its not like NYC teams ever get way too much ink or praise.  Everyone just piles up on how awful those NYC teams are.

Poor Jacobs....

Serphnx, curse you for beating me to the Lebron James joke. I was gonna say that I didn't know he had started playing for the Giants.

I like Jacobs.  The dude speaks his mind and tells it like it is.  The Giants were considered dead by many (4 letters, network, E S P N).  However, they had an exceptional plan to beat the over hyped Eagles and pulled it off.  Great game for them.  However, people will question them as long as the Jets are in the news.  Why?  Well, all of us fans across the nation must be fed come junk from some New York team and the media has selected the cocky Jets as that pick ignoring the Giants.  This is similar to the Yankees and Mets.  Who really cares about the Mets?  I like the Giants and think they are good enough to make the playoffs, but one game does not make a season
