If there’s anybody in the Dallas Metroplex area who kinda, sorta understands what Tony Romo is going through (he’s awesome, he sucks, he’s awesome, he sucks, blah, blah, blah!), it’s Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki.

The boys from the Eye on Basketball blog write about this tweet sent out by Nowitzki that reads,

A nice gesture by Nowitzki, to be sure. But Royce Young also makes a good point. Nowitzki has never seen the vitriol that Romo feels on a week to week basis.

Writes Young, “What you heard is nothing like what Tony Romo is getting. Nobody ever genuinely wanted the Mavericks to bench or trade Dirk. No one ever thought it would be best to part ways with him. It was always just about how Dirk couldn't win big and that was pretty much it. No doubt, he heard the chatter and had plenty of it. But Romo's on another planet in terms of that.”

I like the plight of Tony Romo to that of one of my favorite QB's in the league, Rex Grossman. Both are excellent QB's, but both have a penchant to try and make things happen and end up forcing the ball in and making huge mistakes. Both also had crummy lines as well!

Dangit dirk, don't tweet romo again... You're just putting more pressure on the guy. People should never compare these two different players... Dirk is the best of his country while romo I believe is not even the 2nd best from his home state. Everyone needs to make this a non story.

Nowitzki sympathizes with Romo could have chopped your post to the O-Line. The O-Line is 1/2 to blame. The other is between Romo's ears. Sorry but the throws he makes thatleads to the INT's are mistakes that great QB's only make a few times. Romo seems to find a way to make those throws weekly. You take those throws away from his game and yes he is a good QB, but they are there and it's Romo's fault, not for the failure of the Cowboys, but for putting them in bad situations that leads to those losses. You have a far stretch to say that you could name 25 teams easily. I beg to differ...who? TB not giving up Freeman, Carolina not giving up Newton, Houston not giving up Schabb, Eagle not giving up Vick, Chargers not giving up Rivers, Falcons not giving up Ryan, Steelers not ready (just yet) to give up Roth, and even the Lions not giving up Stafford. Now that's 8 BEFORE I get into the H.O.F. QB's of Manning, Brees, Brady, and Rodgers...... Unless the league has expanded to 50 teams, you should lower your expectations a bit.....

Nice gesture Dirk.  However, if you want the critisiism to stop, play better. His history of choking and failing to deliver on the big stage speaks for itself.
