As usual, we break down the slate of games -- how many points for the Cowboys and Pats? Who is the second-best team in the NFC South? What's the deal with airplane food? -- and welcome our good friend Paul Bessire of PredictionMachine.com onto the show to pick the best bets for the gamblers out there.
Most importantly, Steve Rannazzisi of "The League" joins the podcast to talk about the show's third season, which premiered on October 7 ("The League" can be seen Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET on FX). We touch on everything from the first two seasons, how the fan base and the good reviews have grown during that time, and how season three came about (there was some uncertainty after season two).
Steve also talks about Seth Rogen's cameo in episode 1 of Season 3, his experiences with having fans recognize him in public, how his mom deals with the show's sometimes crass storylines, as well as guest appearances we can look for this season. (Will Forte and Ray Liotta! Seriously.)
Finally, we also chat about the NFL. Steve, who grew up a Giants fan, can't figure out how Tom Coughlin still has a job, admits that he has no faith in Eli Manning (Giants sympathizers nod their head knowingly), and wants the team to tank the season and get into the Andrew Luck swpeepstakes.
Remember, you can catch "The League" Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET on FX, and the season 2 DVD is on sale now. Also, you can read Ryan's interview with Rannazzisi from last season here.
Alright, consider this your complimentary Shiva-blast.
