Rex Grossman benched for John Beck after 4 INTs

John Beck, before the season began, said he believed he was good enough to start at quarterback for the Redskins. Mike Shanahan disagreed, anointing Rex Grossman as Washington’s No. 1 quarterback,  and the Redskins had responded, building a 3-1 record that put them in first place in the NFC East.

But today has been a disaster, and Grossman’s grip on the starting job has grown tenuous.

After going 9 of 22 for 143 yards and four interceptions -- three of which went to Eagles safety Kurt Coleman, who has as many catches as DeSean Jackson -- Shanahan yanked Grossman and inserted Beck into the game.

The Redskins were down by 14 when Beck entered at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and almost immediately, he showcased his solid scrambling skills. Whether he’s good enough to lead the Redskins back from a two-touchdown deficit remains to be seen.

Now if i were the Redskins i trade Grossman before the deadline, and try to get Barkley on the upcoming draft. I know Shanahan won't trade him in reality but look at the Bears they realize how bad he is that they kicked him out. Still think it is better to let him go because he sucks.

Yeah, and McNabb has been sooooo much better this season. Rex is not the answer but let's be honest neither was McNabb as evidenced by his sorry season thus far. He is soon to be benched in favor of a rookie QB. The Shanahans had the same complaints about McNabb that are surfacing now while he is in Minnesota (Mechanics etc.). Not happy with Rex but let's not make McNabb out to be this BIG loss for the skins...HE IS DONE.

Hopefully Beck will show that he is a serviceable QB without being mistake prone as Rex has shown throughout his career.

So let me see if I have this right. This is the guy that the, um, "brain trust" at the Redskins (coaching staff and front office) thought was so far better than Donovan McNabb, that they'd keep him, and let McNabb go? A 9 for 22 day? 143 total passing yards? Four interceptions?

And the guys that made this decision are not merely still employed, but are actually being paid? (And "big mone," at that!) They are actually able to hold onto their jobs after these kind of decisions?

I mean, is there something out of kilter in this county? Or what?
