Norv to Rex: Are your rings with your guarantees?

Turner, RyanPosted by Josh Katzowitz

Normally, if I just had one quote to add to an already completed post, I’d simply slap it on the top of the old post, bold it as an update, and continue on with my day.

But Chargers coach Norv Turner, when he heard about the comments Rex Ryan made Wednesday about how he’d have won a couple Super Bowl rings in San Diego if he’d been hired for the job in 2007, gave such a strong response, it deserved a post of its own.

So, here it is. Mr. Norv Turner, ladies and gentlemen:

"I hadn't seen his quote and I was a little bit surprised by the call. And then after I saw the quote, I didn't have a chance to ask him this, but I was wondering if he had those rings with the ones he's guaranteed the last couple of years."

Yowza for Turner, who I can’t recall ever getting off a zing this good (or a zing at all).

As we’ve seen in the past, Ryan doesn’t have a problem sending out barbs -- even, in this case, if he didn’t exactly mean to leave a mark. Now we get to see how he takes it when another coach is trashing him instead.

Norv to Rex: Are your rings with your guarantees?

haha that is hilarious, but in the big scheme of things, Rex is not far off though the Chargers have had some amazing teams recently id still say that they are only one great reciever away from being a superbowl caliber team and i def would not say that VJax is anywhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Norv to Rex: Are your rings with your guarantees?

Norv won two superbowls with Dallas and shaped Aikman into the QB he was. After 's firing following the unsuccessful 1997 campaign, QB Troy Aikman made many urgent demands that Turner be named head coach. When was named coach, Aikman was famously unhappy, stating "They're screwing this team up." (Wikipedia)

That picture of these two is hilarious.  BFF's.   Rex is a jac k a ss and Norv is a stiff.  No Super Bowl titles for either ever.

Ryan would guarantee a Superbowl victory if he coached the Jayhawks.  And i mean the basketball Jayhawks.  He's a fat bag of hot air.

Nice move from Turner-didn't know he had it in him!

Ryan is such a dumbass that he keeps blathering on, even after his guarantees of winning The Big One have come to naught.

We're still waiting, Head Tool of Gang Green! Show us the goods instead of spouting off with much ado about nothing, just for a change.

Norv to Rex: Are your rings with your guarantees?

So, if Norv Tuner never led a team to the AFC championship game, what team did Patriots beat in the 2007 AFC game?  Was the coach of that team Norm from Cheers?  If we are going to modify history, didn't Nebraska win the Orange Bowl after the 1981 season?  It's great when Rex has to drink from the river he continues to p!ss in.  He's funny when the Jets win.  When the Jets can't back up his mouth, then he looks like a jerk.  If Rex is going to act like Phil Jackson, he better have Michael Jordan or Shaq O'Neal in his bank account to cash the checks his mouth writes.  These boorish big mouths don't last long.  Witness Rex' dad with the Philadelphia Eagles, "You have a winner in town" when he arrived in Philly or his "body bags" quote on Monday Night Football against the Redskins.  The Eagles backed up his talk by receiving a 20-6 home loss butt kicking to this same Redskins.  How about Buddy's quote of "Greg Bell my ass" before the Eagles lost at home to the LA Rams 21-7 and Greg Bell had 124 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles?  After Buddy was fired from the Eagles, he came to Arizona and  announced, you guessed it, "You have a winner in town."  Thanks for the 12-20 record over those two seasons.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so I expect son Rex to follow in his dad's footsteps.
