Cutler doesn't regret cursing at Martz

Cutler and Martz

Posted by Josh Katzowitz

On Sunday night, as the Bears were dominating the Vikings, quarterback Jay Cutler, obviously upset with something or somebody, told quarterback coach Shane Day to give offensive coordinator Mike Martz this message, “F--- him.”

Which isn’t especially nice, but also not especially uncommon when players and coaches are in the middle of a game where emotions are at high levels.

But when asked Wednesday if he regretted saying what he said, Cutler, via the Chicago Tribune, said no. Which is kind of awesome (hey, give the guy some credit for sticking with his convictions, especially if he feels, as maybe he should, that Martz’s play-calls have gotten Cutler hit far too often this year).

Yet, even though he felt he wasn't wrong, Cutler knows who to blame. The media, naturally.

“Things happen," Cutler said. "I’m not going to make a big deal out of it. It’s not a big deal. We’re all on the same team and we’re going to try to win ballgames.”

And it probably isn’t a big deal, because that’s just how coaches and players talk to each other sometimes. But Cutler didn’t stop there.

“They have cameras everywhere now,” Cutler said. “That’s the media and that’s how it is these days. They are going to try to create stories and they are going to try to find anything to make something out of nothing.”

Which is doubly awesome when you realize that Cutler was engaged to -- and still might be together with -- a reality TV star. Yep, those pesky cameras where EVERYWHERE when Cutler recently went to watch Kristen Cavallari on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Luckily for all involved, Cutler didn’t curse on THAT show.

Martz probably laughed when Day gave him the message.

"Cutler should have punched Martz in the face."

No, no, no...  Cutler should just go all Harbaugh on him.

On no! A football player cursed during a football game. Oh no! Baseball players were drinking beer in their locker room on their off day. Oh no. Troy Palomalo used his cell phone to call his wife after being injured... and on...and on...and on. What's wrong CBSSports, the College football season, the World Series, and the NFL can't provide you with enough REAL sports stories to write about? This crap is so weak!

Why is there an article about this? This probably happens a lot more than everyone thinks yet the media blows this up. Cutler just can't catch a break can he?
