The good news for Terrell Owens? He's got an offer on the table. The bad news? It's from the AFL's Chicago Rush, as our own Mike Freeman wrote earlier today.

And according to Owens agent, Drew Rosenhaus, that might be the only offer he gets for a while, since no NFL times have called him about bringing on Owens.

"No, I haven’t [received any calls] and I don’t think teams are just going to bang down our door," Rosenhaus said on ESPN Radio, via Michael David Smith at PFT. "I think they will continue to evaluate this. It may take another injury. It may take a team to lose another game. It might take a team that has a receiver go down or whose offense struggles further, or for a veteran quarterback to come in and say, 'I want Terrell Owens on my football team.'"

This shouldn't be too big a shock, considering the entire NFL no-showed Owens workout in California.
Week 7 Recap

But Rosenhaus said he wasn't concerned about whether or not teams were expressing interest because, eventually they would, and he guaranteed that "all 32 teams were paying attention" to Owens workout on Tuesday. This is probably true, considering it was broadcast live by the NFL Network.

But I'm not so sure that the receiver will ever be in demand. Owens will be 38 in December, he's just a few months removed from a serious knee injury, he won't exactly be dirt cheap, and he's a known problem in the locker room.

Eliminate the teams he's played for in his career (the Eagles, Cowboys, Bengals, 49ers and the Bills) and there's scant few contenders that might want to sign the veteran.

And even if a contender desperately needs a receiving threat, there's no guarantee that Owens is even the best option available.

I am not shocked teams haven't called yet. Its hard for 35+ recievers to get what they want in the NFL. But quit it with the Arena Football reports. By displaying that, you are worse than all of the immature reports T.O. himself has given in his career. I no longer criticize him, I judge the goons who actually are promoting him playing there. You should be ashamed in yourselves.

who here is shocked?  acl surgery, not very tough catching balls over middle (alligator arms), 37 yrs old...  and lets not forget, everywhere he was- he was a total "chucklehead" in the locker room... NFL teams are being smart- dont invest a plummeting stock

This might be the only offer that T.O. gets.

That is wishful thinking on your part Drew. Your client has burned too many bridges and no team wants any part of him. If you need anymore proof of that look at this part of the article:
This shouldn't be too big a shock, considering .
It is time to hang it up T.O. and call it a career.

I hope he can get another shot and contribute to a team for a couple more years.

Maybe this workout thing was the wrong way to go. Maybe, just maybe doing some sit-ups in his driveway would have worked better.

Why Would They Call?

Rosenhaus and Owens wonder why no teams attended his workout and why no team reps have called!  Look at his antics throughout his career and its obvious that no one wants to put up with him.  Not that he's the explosive talent he once was, but teams just aren't willing to take the bad (very bad) with the good when it comes to Owens.

If no one calls, Drew Rosenhaus should receive a public whipping for shaming TO.  I don't care how self-centered TO is or was.  It is Rosenhaus, not the NFL GM's, who have held Owens up to ridicule, disdain, and disappointment.  It all goes to prove what we already know:Drew Rosenhaus' main client is Drew Rosenhaus.

I think the Bears should sign him; TO could join Roy Williams to form the best "has been" tandem in the NFL.  Then they could track down Randy Moss for the trifecta!

There's no doubt that Terrell Owens can play and help an NFL team this season and maybe a couple of seasons after that. His past problems and issues are keeping teams away from the almost 38 year old wide receiver. He looked good during his workout yesterday and showed his knee is 100% healed from his ACL surgery. Years ago when his talent was far better than 90% of the NFL receivers teams would put up with his antics, but now that he's aging and his skills are not leaps and bounds better than other guys, teams are not willing to deal with him.

It's really ashame because the guy can still play and help a team for a couple of more years, but he may never get the chance to wear an NFL uniform again. I actually think it's 50/50 on Owens playing this season in the NFL.
