Reggie Bush says the Dolphins 'stink,' upsets teammates in the process. (US PRESSWIRE)

Posted by Ryan Wilson

It happens every season: a team gets off to a slow start, the frustration builds before reaching a tipping point, and people getting fired, traded or released is invariably preceded by back-stabbing and finger-pointing. Which brings us to the 2011 Dolphins.

At 0-6 they're one of the league's sorriest teams, most recently victimized by the Tim Tebow's Blinding Awesomeness (it didn't help that Miami was in the wrong defense on the game's decisive play).

After Sunday's loss, there was plenty of blame to go around. Reggie Bush, who was traded to Miami before the season, spoke frankly.

“It’s just embarrassing, I don’t know any other way to explain it,” he said. “It’s an embarrassing loss. Had no business losing that game. We were up 15 points with what, five minutes left to go? And we couldn’t win it? It’s disgusting. Right now, this team stinks.”

Bush isn't wrong. It's that he probably shouldn't articulate those thoughts publicly. Team unity and whatnot. On Wednesday, Dolphins safety Yeremiah Bell had some thoughts on Bush.

Via's Jeremiah Thermidor:

“He stinks,” Bell said emphatically after being asked what he thought of the comments by Bush. “That shouldn’t be said around this locker room. We know that we’re 0-6 and we’re not playing the best but at the same time there’s no need for that.”

The man makes a point, but the damage has been done. Thermidor writes that Bush's remarks have divided the locker room.

“I just think he said it because he was mad like everybody else was,” McDaniel said. “But I would’ve never said anything like that.”

Linebacker Kevin Burnett, meanwhile, thinks Bush is onto something.

“You are what you put on tape, you are what the numbers say you are and right now we stink,” he said. “If you’re scared to admit the truth, you’ll never amount to anything. So I’m definitely man enough to say we’re not doing things effectively and efficiently.”

Burnett, who earlier this month challenged a beat reporter to "put on some pads, homeboy" after said reporter wrote "Kevin Burnett -- He hasn’t done a single thing worth mentioning in the first three games of 2011, and this defense has gone from good to bad very quickly," can now admit that he's part of the problem.

“I did include myself in that equation (of stinking),” he told Thermidor. “We turn over the football, we don’t get off the field on third downs and we allow big plays so that’s the equivalent of stinking. I mean, it is what it is.”

And what it is is a winless 2011, a lame-duck coach and a feature back who has managed to do less in Miami than he did in New Orleans.

Maybe the Dolphins should've signed Darren Sproles. Not only is he having a better season than Bush, he keeps to himself.

The Miami Dolphins are still searching for their first win as they prepare to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.'s Pat Kirwan and Jason Horowitz preview this matchup. Watch the game on CBS at 1 PM ET.

I think Reggis is absolutely right and I dont see a problem with him saying it in public or in the locker room..."they stink right now. and he did say "WE as a TEAM" stink. Bell, it's true, what's the problem?

Useless, worthless and horrible are better words to describe the Miami Dolphins franchise, players and coaching staff.

With all the players that have left, they lose both their RB's and then replace with Reggie Bush. That's the running gmae right there that was downgraded walking into 2011 season. And they did it last season too in the passing game. They added a Brandon Marshall at WR then let Ginn Jr go. That's absurd to spin it as improving and then turn around and let the Dolphins equivalent of the Bears Devin Hester leave or even what the Eagles may do with DeSean Jackson ? Bad enough the Patriots & Jets upgraded as they did & continue to do and now the Bills are coming into their own. Sparano simply had the plug pulled by ownership and the front office. They tried to better deal the coach for Harbaugh at the beiginning of 2011 after an Orange Bowl game in cfb. The Dolphins are making all the right moves to be 0-6. They were 7-9 in back to back seasons after an 11-5 season. The Parcells era was get enough value for Huizenga to sell off as much of the team as he didn't want any more. I'd say the Dolphins accomplished everything they set out to do in the last 3-4 seasons. But as bad as they are, they could've done what the Eagles did and be 2-4 just the same ?

Yeremiah Bell on Reggie Bush: 'He stinks'

you just sound stupid taking up for this guy maddtrix.he is small and soft, that's why he doesnt get more carries.he's an edge runner and you have to run between the tackles in the n.f.l.the saints gave him a shot 2 years ago when deuce got hurt and bush couldnt handle the load.that's why undrafted pierre thomas got so many carries.him causing such a rift when his coach needed things calm speeks to his poor, selfish nature.why you think they took his tainted heisman away?it wasnt his job to "save"his coaches job,but sealing his fate with this b.s. just shows the person he is. miami played hard the whole game to lose a gutwrencher and he takes the time out to say his yteam stinks?weather he named anyone or not, pros arent supposed to call out his team to the press,he just is of poor character.

Yeremiah Bell on Reggie Bush: 'He stinks'

OMG!!!  All this commotion!!!  Did Bush come out with one big fat stinking lie or do the Dolphins actually stink???!!!  Cuuummmmooonnnnnn MMaaannnnnn!!!! Common sense must prevail here.  Perhaps his lack of prudence and mouthiness might have disqualified him from the Mr. Congeniality contest for the Dolphins this year but after playing with the Saints, what on earth does he have to be congenial about???  Ahem!!! Winning team to losing team???  Everyone can bash him all day long and it won't take away from him his time and experience with a winning team.  Maybe he has something to contribute to the team, like advising ownership to fire certain coaching elements.  I'm a Bengals fan; kind of irrelevant except that we have "administrative" problems as well.  I was hoping Miami would thump Tebow last week.  After all, wasn't that game all a Tebow thing???  To the point that "Tebowing" has become a verb!!!  (and a website)   Yucky!!!!!  Miami needs to salvage what they can at this point and bawling and airing player's foot-in-mouth moments isn't exactly going to help the team.  Then again, look at Rex Ryan and the Jets..... "foot-in-mouth".......Laughing

Yeremiah Bell on Reggie Bush: 'He stinks'

Who's Yeremiah Bell? Except for the fact that he doesn't even know how to spell his own name...a fact highlighted by the inclusion of Jeremiah Thermido for the purpose of this article...I don't know anything else about him. He must be like Dwayne Wade...who also doesn't know how to spell his name correctly.
