Owens PR rep: He did NOT try to commit suicide

Earlier today, we brought you the story of Terrell Owens and the 911 call that emerged from the night his assistant told a dispatcher that she believed he had tried to commit suicide.

Now, Owens -- make that Owens’ PR rep -- has spoken out. He was not trying to kill himself. Instead, he had taken a sleeping pill and was unresponsive as a result.

Owens’ assistant on the night of Oct. 6 called emergency services and said Owens had taken four prescription pain pills. When the operator asked if Owens was awake, the caller said, “Barely … we talk to him and he understands what we're saying."

When the dispatcher asked if it was a suicide attempt, she said, “Yes, I believe so."

But Owens’ PR rep said that wasn’t the case.

Diana Bianchini told TMZ the following: “Terrell Owens absolutely did not attempt suicide nor did he attempt to overdose on pills on Oct. 6, 2011.

"The facts are that [T.O.'s assistant] arrived at his home that evening after he had already taken a sleeping aid to fall asleep. He was unresponsive because of this.

"Unaware he had taken a sleeping aid prior to her arrival, his assistant became concerned and decided to call 911.

"When the ambulance and police arrived, Owens was responsive and was not held in the hospital. Reports released with the 911 call today are misleading and not factual."

T.O. is very charismatic, a TV gig would suit him well I think.

Suicide is nothing to make fun of or wish on someone, he's in a very dark place and I wish there is something someone can do to help him be happy. He is still a human being and he doesn't deserve it. It's not like he raped or killed anyone he just has emotional issues.  I can say one thing; this suicide puplicity is the last thing someone with his condition needs. You're in my thoughts TO. Good luck. Maybe he can become an anouncer, no one with that job is depressed.

It's very difficult to defend TO but I don't think there is also a need to redistribute this form of tabloid journalism.  TO has caused quite a few locker room problems and he is absolutely a premadonna, but he's no monster.  The dude is just emotionally insecure probably because of family issues when he was young.

He's busted his tail to get back. He didn't sit around moping.  I give him props for the desire he shown. America is supposed to be about second chances.  I have no issues when somebody busting his chops when he acts egotistical, but camon have some decency.

Look, nobody but T.O. knows for sure what has happened twice now. If he has indeed tried to commit suicide twice then this man/person/human needs help quickly before he succeeds. No matter your opinion of him he is still a human being. Depression is such a terrible thing. A good friend of mine hung himself three years ago. I didn't have time to talk to him the last time I saw him, which was about a week before his suicide, my wife was going into surgery and I had to be there for her. Nobody understood his pain until it was too late. This is something I feel guilty about all the time.

If T.O. suffers from depression then his "people" need to help him instead of being happy little " yes men". Depression may actually explain why he is the way he is. Whether you love him or hate him he is still a human being in need of help.

RIP Tom

Owens PR rep: He did NOT try to commit suicide

What a monolithic load of revisionist history bullcrap!  We're not supposed to believe what we saw, or what we heard, we're supposed to believe the new story presented by some public relations BS artist trying to help their client get a job in the NFL.  Lets look at some verifiable, irrefutable, indisputable facts about Terrell Owens.  He's almost 38 years old, almost twice as old as some rookies.  He has a surgically rebuilt knee, due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which is going to limit his speed and mobility.  Throughout his career, he has caused trouble with every team he has played for, with his favorite tactic being dividing up the team between players who agree with T.O. versus players who do not agree with T.O.  And of course, there are all of his very public disputes with his starting quarterbacks at San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas.

Terrell Owens has made a career out of being his own worst enemy, and eager to defend that title.  Add a bad knee and mental problems, and he's surprised that not one team in the NFL was willing to send an assistant scout to look at him?  T.O.'s career in the NFL is over, and everybody knows it except Terrell Owens.  It's not just sad, it's pathetic.
