Bush stands by 'We stink' comment

Bush, BellPosted by Josh Katzowitz

Even on a new team in a new city, Reggie Bush can’t stop making himself the center of controversy. So, when he said after the Dolphins got Tebowed on Sunday, “This team stinks,” some of the members of that team took offense.

As’s Ryan Wilson wrote on Thursday, Miami cornerback Yeremiah Bell blasted Bush right away.

“He stinks,” Bell said. “That shouldn’t be said around this locker room. We know that we’re 0-6 and we’re not playing the best but at the same time there’s no need for that.”

With the chance to reconsider his choice of words, though, Bush didn’t back down on his original thoughts. The team does stink, Bush says, and like Bell says, so does he.

"I still stand by it, because there's nothing fun about 0-6," Bush said Thursday, via the Palm Beach Post. "And there's no room for sensitivity in this league. This is a man's game, we all signed on the dotted line. Whatever we've been doing is not good enough at this point."

Bell, meanwhile, tried to walk back his statement, saying he had been taken out of context*. He also thought Bush had been taken out of context as well. Bush disagreed.

*Though, when a dude says about a teammate, “He stinks!” in which other context can he possibly speaking?

"What else would I mean?" Bush said. "I do stink. We all stink. When it comes to 0-6, everybody stinks. We've all, in some way, shape or form have not been good enough, and that's what I meant with those comments.

"I don't care if it's the front-desk secretary -- she ain't doing a good enough job.”

The front-desk secretary could not be reached for comment, but I imagine he or she would say, “Bush? Well, he kinda sucks.”

More from Bush: "It's time for a little gut check. Do we want to continue to lose games and kind of be the laughingstock of the league for the rest of the year? Or do we want to turn this thing around?"

Honestly, laughingstock seems to be working pretty well (or, at least, providing good fodder for us NFL bloggers). I say, stick with that.

I think its funny how He is complaining about the team and the effort that they are putting out there..... Someone should give him a reality check.... You have been overtaken by a rookie RB who has been fighting a hamstring injury all year..... Bush is at best a no. 2 RB in the league.  Im sorry but Bush I think your done Son they got enough problems don't need some loud mouth underachiever on your team.

Sounds like they need to take a few cues from the 2006 Saint's.

Get a new GM that will make the tuff choices, get a new Head Coach, get a quality quarterback... and then build a team and maintain as necessary.

Oh and for God's sake, get rid of Reggie... He never lived up to expectations in New Orleans. He won't live up to them in Miami either, especially after 2 knee surgeries before you got him.

So in short:

1. Beat out Indy for Luck

2.  Maybe Cower is the guy for coach, maybe not.

3. Get somebody new as a GM to sweet-talk the owner into spending money.

The problem with this team starts upstairs with the owners!!! I wish we, as Dolphin Fans, could fire the owners!! I for one know, for sure, that I could have done a much better job running this organization!! That is a lock. Who the hell passes on Drew Brees!! Not once....but twice!! There is some talent on this team.....but I believe we all can see what we are missing........A QB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! C'Mon Man!!!!!!! A good coach would help too.......Going for 2 when you are up 12-0 at the start of the fourth quarter is a horrible decission!!! Take the point. Going for 2 tells your team that even though we havn't given up any points yet, I know we are going to give up 2 touchdowns over the next 14 min.....C'Mon MAN!!!!

Has the coffee failed to percolate this season????  So the wake up call hasn't gotten across to the Dolphins yet - is lack of caffiene yet another excuse?  Bush didn't even try to make excuses.  He pretty much said, Dolphins stink, then while deserving or not, said emphatically, "I STINK".   In other words, "there are some major problems that need to be addressed and I'll even take the blame if it will take the media hype off of me and make this team wake up and strive to do better".......... he just summed it up without some breathless excuse.  SURE the team has a gripe for Bush being
"mouthy" in public.  After all, what mother has ever adored her child when the child revealed some silly household "secret" - Child says, "Grandma falls down on her face when she drinks." and utters this in public!!!  ***Gasping for breath**** like the neighborhood hadn't already noticed this????  Really, the team and the bloggers ought to be more concerned with team problems in lieu of problematic team dramas...  Bush didn't hurt the team or mean to harm the team with his comments.  A frustrated winner (from the Saints) said ~~~~~~ "Let's GO team" in his own problematic style.  Glad Sproles didn't end up @ Dolphins, he'd probably be nailed to the locker room door for the same sentiments (and HE hasn't a Super Bowl ring on his finger yet).

This is the same Reggie Bush who sold out his university and Trojan teammates for a few thousand dollars?  This is the same Reggie Bush whose girl friend Kim Kardashian said he knew what size Tampax to get her in the middle of the night?  Sorry Reggie, this is a man's sport and whipped lying SOB's like you have given up the right to be heard.

Dolphins stick sooo much, that they wont even have the worst record, then, miss Adrew Luck, who they could really use, then draft another crum-bum.  Trdae the second or third on big signing bonuses and pick up a free agent QB, not like Culpepper over Brees.  Yeah  Bush sticks as well as the team...he actually sticks more, cant do anything.

Dysfunctional team. Can't beat anyone else 'til they stop beating on each other. Gotta think Sparano is only there until they can find a viable option.
Infighting on the team shows that the coach isn't in full control of his team. His players aren't buying what he's selling. EVERY team has a prima dona or two. It's the coach's responsibility to keep them in check. When you start hearing this kind of thing out of teams, a new coach can't be far away.

Bush is right. He said he stinks and that everyone else in the organization stinks. Those are two very true things to say. I dare anyone in the organization to call him out, that is, in a way that can be taken seriously (not Yeremiah Bell babbling about what stays in the locker nd a bunch of BS)
