T. Choice was waived by Dallas (US Presswire).Posted by Josh Katzowitz

If we thought Cowboys running back Tashard Choice was not necessarily a Jason Garrett favorite -- as his 28 carries through six games, despite an injury to Felix Jones, would lead you to believe -- we can be positive about it right now.

As reported by ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys have waived Choice today.

Considering one of his biggest contributions to the team this season was co-hosting the radio show where Dez Bryant said the 2-3 Cowboys were unbeatable and considering Choice, who was on the trading block, was said to be in Garrett’s doghouse, this -- aside from the timing of the transaction -- shouldn’t be a big surprise.

But it is a disappointment. Choice never could break out during his three-season stay in Dallas and was prone to making silly mistakes -- like, running out of bounds when the Cowboys were trying to wind down the clock against the Redskins on their way to victory -- and after DeMarco Murray obliterated the team’s franchise record for rushing yards in a game last week, Choice became even more expendable than before.

He also suffered a shoulder injury last week vs. the Rams, and he was limited in practice this week. He then hurt his hamstring during the week and missed Friday's practice altogether.

Wrote Choice on his Twitter account: "I just want to say thanks to all the great dallas cowboy fans. My time in Dallas has come to an end and the best is yet come. God bless."

Linebacker Bruce Carter is expected to take his place on the roster, leaving Choice more time to add to his collection of athlete’s autographs.

Good luck T.C. you won't be unemployed very long. Quality back with loads of upside, not quite sure why it didn't happen for him in Big D but any team to get him will be lucky.

Too bad for Choice. Got replaced by another OU running back.  In case you don't remember, Choice was on OU's roster when Adrian Peterson came to town.  He then transferred to Georgia Tech and became a good running back.  Now he is replaced by Murray (not Murrey) in Dallas.  Sucks for him, but that's the way this game works.  And good job Murray.  I'm not a Dallas fan and I won't watch them even though they show every game on our local Fox station, but I did like Murray at OU and he was a very good running back for us.  Hopefully he will have a long and healthy NFL career.  Too bad he plays for Dallas.

Cowboys waive RB Tashard Choice

My cowboys friends have said this move was inevitable. The problem was that most backs, once they get paid, stop sacrificing their bodies. The Cowboys had Marion Barber in his prime but the past two years he was a shell. Most of the discussion has rightly been about Demarco Murray but don't sleep on Tanner. He is a load and will get some carries this week. If Philadelphia continues to be unable to stop the run the Cowboys coukd do worse than tying one arm down on Romo and run, run, run.

When Choice came out of Georgia Tech he has great promise. What caused that to disappear? Was it the fumbles? The average running back in the league has a short timeline to make his bucks and leave, The pounding a backs takes is unmerciful.  Steven Jackson is a back who relished contact in his first couple of years. Now he is a JAG (just a guy) and looking old and brittle. It seems necessary for a team to draft another running back (or sign a undrafted rookie) every year. They have become a commodity for most teams. Fantasy players know they need extra running backs to get throuigh the season. It is the same in the real game.

Choice should be a Starter hopefully he will regain the mental toughness that he had before this Season. I hope Felix know that he may not regain the Starting job, Murray is the Man as the Cowboys RB.

Choice had potential, but he was turning into a turnover machine. Seems like just about every game he would cough the ball up. Can't have that. Sure, it would've been nice to get something for him, but it doesn't always work out that way.
