Not breaking news for anyone that watched college football last night: Andrew Luck is really, really good. Teams want him, and men want to be him.

Halfway through the early games during Week 8, the Indianapolis Colts are looking like the clear-cut favorite to win the Luck sweepstakes.

And as CBS Sports Charley Casserly reported on Sunday, they're totally OK with that.

"Barring any medical issue with Andrew Luck, if the Colts have a chance to take him next year, they're going to take him," Casserly said on The NFL Today.

Casserly also pointed out Luck, who does have one year of eligibility left at Stanford, is "unlikely" to return to school in 2012. Oh, yes, and he compares somewhat favorably in terms of how teams view him.

"First of all, talking to the Luck camp, it's highly unlikely that he would go back to Stanford," Casserly said. "Talking to general managers around the league, they say Andrew Luck will be the highest-rated quarterback coming out since the 1983 draft, which had John Elway as the first player taken."

That's ridiculously high praise, and probably a bit ironic too, considering the likelihood of Luck replacing the only guy -- Peyton Manning -- who might have left college as more of a sure thing.

Good call on changing the title as the previous one say Polian instead of Colts, i totally tried to shy away to not comment about it. Saw the game last 3 over time, And he brought them to a win, So hope they really suck.Because if they want Andrew Luck they got competition with the Dolphins who are more worse than any teams so far currently.

If the Colts have the first pick, they take Luck Unless they are made an offer they cannot refuse. I think he is the Real Deal.

Indy are tanking, they make the WWE seem straight. Really? Have you seen Painter and Collins play this year? If anyone is purposely losing games it is the Dolphins. But even that isn't true considering how bad of a coach Sparano is. He could coach the Packers to a losing record.

In the NFL, you don't get that time anymore. Also if he wins the Heisman he will probably suck, just like all those other Heisman winners.

If Casserly truly knew what he was talking about he would be running a team instead of writing these pathetic articles. I have said it before and I will say it again. Andrew Luck will skip the draft again next year because either Stanford wins the NC game and Luck wants to repeat, Stanford does not win the NC game, but comes oh so close and he wants to go out a winner or he does not want to play for the terrible Colts. The Colts are so terrible right now that the city of Indianapolis is secretly hoping that the team skips town in the middle of the night like when they left Baltimore many years ago! What if the winner of the SB in 2013 will have first pick in the 2013 draft! No longer are terrible teams given free reign to stink it up in hopes of landing the top pick! College athletes don't like it because oftentimes getting picked by a terrible team hinders their NFL career significantly. How many number 1 drafted QBs have stayed with their team for more than 10 years and how many of them have had great success? Not many... The Andrew Luck-Josh Johnson-Alex Smith-Tim Tebow-Jim Harbaugh-Urban Meyer connection is too strong to break up! Mark my words...in the next 3 years Urban Meyer will coach in the NFL and have Smith and Tebow as his signal callers while Harbaugh will have Johnson and Luck as his. I don't know what team Meyer will coach, but it's safe to say it's a team that's NOT run by an egomaniac (Redskins/Dolphins/Bengals/Chargers/ Saints/Cowboys). *It must be noted that some of the stuff I wrote is not neccessarily true nor will it be true in the future. That is something the Colts are going to have to start rebuilding for. We have many players that are past their prime and making too much money.
