Suh, Goodell make up during meeting

SuhPosted by Josh Katzowitz

Ndamukong Suh had his meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday, and he’s taken to his Facebook page to tell you all about it.

It seems to have gone very well indeed.

"I am very appreciative of the opportunity to sit and speak with the Commissioner and his staff to clarify a few questions about my play, and the game in general,” Suh wrote. “I have gained a better understanding how I need to play the game to help my team win.

“I look forward to the rest of the season and the doing everything we can to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Detroit."

Suh has been characterized as a dirty player (probably because he’s seemingly always trying to rip off the other quarterback’s face), and he’s been hit hard by fines -- which is why he asked to meet with Roger Goodell. He wanted to get clarification on why his style of play has led to so many personal fouls and fines. Now, apparently he’s got it.

“We appreciate that Ndamukong Suh, Coach (Jim) Schwartz, and team president Tom Lewand took the time to meet with us today,” Goodell said in a statement. “Ndamukong plays the game with great skill and passion and is a major reason for the Lions’ success this year. We reviewed video showing that he has clearly made the adjustments to play consistently within the rules so that he can continue to help the team. We commend Ndamukong’s leadership in taking the initiative to schedule today’s meeting.”

Glad to see Suh and the NFL are, once again, BFFs. Opposing quarterbacks can only hope those good feelings last.

Suh, Goodell make up during meeting

I have this bad habit of checking the fan's allegiance before I post smth. It does not dictate the person's intelligence, but it sometimes can explain certain views. What is beyond me in your case is how can someone take seriously a fan of BOTH NY Yankees AND Boston Celtics? Not trying to start anything, but merely trying to understand. How does it work?

Suh, Goodell make up during meeting

The problem with googling s--t to get your info is that for everything you read there is a counterpoint, as follows:

"After a bevy of fines led to recent criticism of Lions' defensive tackle , including a column by CBS Sports writer Mike Freeman in which the word "nastiness" was used (no, really, ), consider former Giants' defensive end Michael Strahan in Suh's corner.

The current FOX Sports analyst dismissed allegations that Detroit's second-year player was a dirty player.

“I don’t think Suh is a dirty player at all,” said the seven-time pro bowler in a . “He’s talented, he’s aggressive and he’s had some penalties, but that doesn’t make him dirty"

Continued Strahan, “Before, a lot of teams looked at Detroit as just a team to get in and get out, without anybody getting hurt and get your victory, and now you know you’re in for a fight. A guy like Suh is one of the reasons for that.”

This was just the first post I saw after I googled. There were several others supporting him. Including Champ Bailey from Sundays game.

If you don't like him and like he is dirty that is fine but watch him play or at least watch some replays don't base your comments on what you only read on a google search!

Suh, Goodell make up during meeting

by far the best post on this topic ... the nfl is starting to look more like soccer than the football I grew up with ... did anyone see those lousy calls in the KC vs SD game monday night?!? that inerferrence call on Gates was rediculous, and that was only the tip of the ice berg for another week full of panzie calls made by the NFL officials ... the league is going to hell quickly, and it's dying a rapid death everytime you hear a whistle on Sunday ...
