Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

If Terrell Owens’ biggest problem was the fact he couldn’t find a job, life would be grand. But now he’s got bigger problems than his unemployment.

As TMZ reports, a California judge has issued an arrest warrant for Owens after he failed to show up for a child support hearing.

We told you a few days ago that Owens had asked to reduce his child support payments, because he’s not making as much money today as he was before. Therefore, he can’t pay as much in child support. Or none at all, as Monique Reynolds, who is taking Owens to court for back payments, claims in court.

TO's Problems
Owens apparently knew he was not going to show up for his court appearance -- it was right around the time of his workout in which zero NFL teams showed up to watch -- and he apparently tried to reschedule, but Reynolds’ representation refused.

And if Owens thought he could catch on with an NFL team in order to earn some money, Bengals safety Chris Crocker, Owens’ former teammate, said he can understand why nobody seems interested.

“When we talk about how perception is reality, the perception around the league is that he’s a bad locker room guy and a bad teammate,” Crocker said in this week’s Five Questions (or more). “Organizations don’t want to bring that dynamic in the locker room, especially with him 37 or 38 years old. I just don’t think people are willing to do it. I’m not saying he’s a bad teammate, but he was called one when he was in San Fran, in Philly, in Dallas. It’s like a circus. Teams just don’t want to go that route. You bring him in, and you bring in all the stuff that goes with it.”

Hopefully, “all that stuff” doesn’t include becoming a deadbeat dad.

Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

why does race get brought up in this anyway?  I'm so tired of the race card.  Facts are facts and that's all there is too it.  I treat everyone with the same amount of respect as the next person.  Honestly, someone who is black, or african american or whatever you would prefer, who goes out has a job, pays his bills and works hard should be upset at other black individuals not caucausians/whites, whatever you want to call them.  Bottom line is that people are so quick to go to the race card or to make an issue racist but in reality you control your own destiny.  Bill Cosby does a very good job of trying to get this message thru to younger adults.  Fact of the matter is, this day in age, the countries unemployment is 10%, but african american males is closer to 20%.  The percentage of blacks in jail, to whites in jail is also much higher.  Am I naive to think that this is because that few crimes are happening with whites than blacks?  NO.  I understand that there is still racism out there however in my 31 years on this planet, I've never put myself in a situation where I could allow their bias of the color of my skin determine if I went to prison or not....merely because I don't get in situations that cause problems.  Overall, while people talk about race, they should really be talking about accountability.  We live in a country that finally has a black president and in turn, some blacks say "yeah but he's half white".  It just really never ends.  Maybe I'm too naive to believe that the world has changed enough that the only restrictions you have of becoming what you want are those put on you, but when I see our first black president....I'm pretty certain if he could do that, those 20% of african americans on the unemployment line could probably be trying a little harder to prevent a stereotype from continuing.  There is nothing more powerful than proving people wrong...

And as far as my stance on this issue.... ANY man, no mind to color, that doesn't take care of his children is a sorry excuse for a man.

sfpatriots..... I agree with your dislike of Kaline 1's comments. I am a happily married man of my high school mate. We've been married for 18 years now, and I have never strayed or cheated or even put a hand on my wife. Oh yeah, I'm a black man also. We raise two daughters that are straight A students and athletes. Kaline 1, typical is not what the media, or what you, believe to be the majority. Black men have always been looked at negatively. When something good happens, no one wants to hear about the good. Ptime example...... As much as Bonds has been in the news negatively, and deservedly so for his personality and steroid issue, no one has even sniffed to mention the good he did. He is currently helping the San Francisco man who nearly got beat to death in LA at the start of baseball season. Bonds is helping with his medical bills and has set up a fund to pay for his children's college tuition. But no media sources on here report that. Anyway.... kudos to you sfpatriots for being a "typical" man.....

Kaline 1 as a black man I resent your last remark.  First off I pay child support and take care of my kids even though I'm not with their mother.  This is purely a responsibility issue that fathers face.  You are responsibile for helping take care of your child period.  If you don't want to then don't have them.  What you should have said was Shocker ... what a typical man splitting up with his baby's mama and don't want to do anything for the kid.  But to tell you the truth nothing is more important than showing your kids you love them no matter what the circumstances are.  My ex took my to boys out of state and I had to go down to the public library to read up on Ohio state laws and filed for joint custady and won.  How typical is that?  On top of that my youngest son came to live with me for awhile and the same day I went to court to get my child support reduced he wanted to go back to Ohio because he was having trouble in school.  As much as I wanted to have him stay I sent him back and went back to court to restart child support payments.  He graduated a year early and  is a freshman in college at Write State.  Typical huh?Foot in mouth

It took years to finally get rid of Favre and his Mama Drama. How long are you media guys going to write stories about this idiot and his lunacy when he is not even on a football team anymore?  It's not even a story related to a sport! Send to The View or Regis.
