Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

If Terrell Owens’ biggest problem was the fact he couldn’t find a job, life would be grand. But now he’s got bigger problems than his unemployment.

As TMZ reports, a California judge has issued an arrest warrant for Owens after he failed to show up for a child support hearing.

We told you a few days ago that Owens had asked to reduce his child support payments, because he’s not making as much money today as he was before. Therefore, he can’t pay as much in child support. Or none at all, as Monique Reynolds, who is taking Owens to court for back payments, claims in court.

TO's Problems
Owens apparently knew he was not going to show up for his court appearance -- it was right around the time of his workout in which zero NFL teams showed up to watch -- and he apparently tried to reschedule, but Reynolds’ representation refused.

And if Owens thought he could catch on with an NFL team in order to earn some money, Bengals safety Chris Crocker, Owens’ former teammate, said he can understand why nobody seems interested.

“When we talk about how perception is reality, the perception around the league is that he’s a bad locker room guy and a bad teammate,” Crocker said in this week’s Five Questions (or more). “Organizations don’t want to bring that dynamic in the locker room, especially with him 37 or 38 years old. I just don’t think people are willing to do it. I’m not saying he’s a bad teammate, but he was called one when he was in San Fran, in Philly, in Dallas. It’s like a circus. Teams just don’t want to go that route. You bring him in, and you bring in all the stuff that goes with it.”

Hopefully, “all that stuff” doesn’t include becoming a deadbeat dad.

Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

Child Support???  Every circumstance is different, so no need to offer an opinion.  Responsibility???  THAT'S what this is all about and THAT'S what life is all about.  Everyone is responsible for their own actions.  You, me and Terrell Owens.  It certainly appears that for almost his entire life the only person Owens has been responsible to is Terrell Owens ... a disgrace to his own and the entire human race.  We wonder what's wrong with this country and this world and Owens is the perfect example.  He's a person who has no regard for anyone else, does what he pleases, when he pleases and takes absolutely no responsibility for anything he does ... unless it brings him attention.  Bottom line?  If you can't handle the consequences, don't do the action ... it's called RESPONSIBLILITY!!!

Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

Right now in Michigan,  I know someone who was married and had 5 children with his wife.   He found out she was cheating and that 3 of the 5 were not his children.  He promptly divorced the #^&@ and she moved in with her guy on the side.  He has to pay child support for all 5 kids even though 3 aren't even his while the biological father doesn't have to pay a dime.
Either someones not being 100% truthful, or the guy has an asshat for an attorney. While almost every system is flawed regarding divorce and child support, there's not a system in the land that is going to make you pay child support for children that are not yours. Maybe he simply "Suspects" they're not his. Nothing like a good paternity test to find out for certain.

Child support should not have anything to do with how much the Father makes . The Mothers just waste the money 99 percent of the time. I have afriend who pays 800 a week. What the hell does the kid need that cost $800 every week? The courts should make the parent who receives the Child support prove that all of the money goes to the kids and not vacations for themselves and big TV's and whatever else they are buying.

With all due respect sir, you just don't get it.  There are certain expenses that always acompany being the primary parent.  He/she must provide housing for the child, transportation (car payment, insurance, maintenance) along with other necessties such as food, clothing, medical care, etc and non-essentials such as entertainment, leisure, etc

Many primary parents spend all of his/her income on the absolute basic essentials and would otherwise have nothing left over.  The child support provided by the secondary parent helps OFFSET those costs.  (as opposed to proving all of the money goes to the kids) So if a parent uses all his/her paychecks to pay the mortgage and the car/medical bills and then uses the child support for fun activities such as vacations or even big TV's, then his/her child support was most certainly not wasted.

The system is so screwed up,  I don't know where to start.

First of all,  thre should be a cap as to how much a man should have to pay based on the child's age.  say like $500-750.   That would put a stop right away to all of these groupies that are trying to get pregnant as their version of hitting the lotto.

Child Support should not be based on a Mans income but by how much it costs to raise a child the porper way. The system as every other system in this country hurts the hard working man.

The system is truly fractured.  I will always pay my child support, it will be payed before I buy myself groceries(has already happened a couple times).  But the system is def. set up to screw the dad it seems to me
You're absolutely right, Brandon. We rarely hear of instances where the mother is the deadbeat and the father has child custody, in which case the necessity of paying on time is somehow far less strict for the woman.

I'll share one case just so you can all feel a little bit better.  We will just say "my friend" to not offend anyone...  This friend was getting screwed out of an over-the-top amount of money by the system for what was supposed to be child support, yet his daughter never had new clothes and always complained there was no food at mom's house.  But, my friend was able to get some back from his ex's stupidity as she decided to move in with a new boyfriend, who lived over 2 hours away, without notifying and getting concent from the courts and my friend as he had every other weekend custody.  My friend immediately took her back to court.  He now has joint custody and obviously less child support.

It doesn't always happen in the man's favor, but does sometimes.  :)
