Report: Warrant issued for Terrell Owens

If Terrell Owens’ biggest problem was the fact he couldn’t find a job, life would be grand. But now he’s got bigger problems than his unemployment.

As TMZ reports, a California judge has issued an arrest warrant for Owens after he failed to show up for a child support hearing.

We told you a few days ago that Owens had asked to reduce his child support payments, because he’s not making as much money today as he was before. Therefore, he can’t pay as much in child support. Or none at all, as Monique Reynolds, who is taking Owens to court for back payments, claims in court.

TO's Problems
Owens apparently knew he was not going to show up for his court appearance -- it was right around the time of his workout in which zero NFL teams showed up to watch -- and he apparently tried to reschedule, but Reynolds’ representation refused.

And if Owens thought he could catch on with an NFL team in order to earn some money, Bengals safety Chris Crocker, Owens’ former teammate, said he can understand why nobody seems interested.

“When we talk about how perception is reality, the perception around the league is that he’s a bad locker room guy and a bad teammate,” Crocker said in this week’s Five Questions (or more). “Organizations don’t want to bring that dynamic in the locker room, especially with him 37 or 38 years old. I just don’t think people are willing to do it. I’m not saying he’s a bad teammate, but he was called one when he was in San Fran, in Philly, in Dallas. It’s like a circus. Teams just don’t want to go that route. You bring him in, and you bring in all the stuff that goes with it.”

Hopefully, “all that stuff” doesn’t include becoming a deadbeat dad.

The system is truly fractured.  I will always pay my child support, it will be payed before I buy myself groceries(has already happened a couple times).  But the system is def. set up to screw the dad it seems to me
You're absolutely right, Brandon. We rarely hear of instances where the mother is the deadbeat and the father has child custody, in which case the necessity of paying on time is somehow far less strict for the woman. The amont due is also absurd because 80% of the payments are going directly into the ex's pocket rather than being used to provide for the child. If you don't have a job that pays well, you literally have to work 60+ hours a week just to survive. And if you have more than one kid to pay for? You can forget about having any kind of life at all or keeping any of the money you work for. I don't know the specifics of Owens' situation but I'm assuming that the ex has already received more than enough money via child support for her and the kid to live comfortable for a long time.

ill take it a step even further as far as the father getting screwed. i recently started a job after being layed off for 18 months and suddenly started getting child support taken out of my check. my kids are all well over 20 now and the child they claim they are taking the money out for lived with me. i called child support who have all the records of my kids and their birth dates and told them what was happening and they told me i have to file he appropriate paperwork to get it stopped. they have the records right there in front of their face and can't just make the right decision? again its a system to screw over the dad and always make the moms a victim. the mom. by the way, is a welfare frauding piece of crap.

Thank you Toxic- Im in the exact same boat. These dudes have no idea the system is set up to screw the father- until they're in it, waist deep.

Impeach, toxic I must say im in agreement with both of you on this one.  I myself am I newly divorced male with one daughter.  Right now I pay $252 biweekly to my ex for child support.  I barely make 38,000 dollars a year as an EMT.  On months when I get three paychecks I pay over $700.  What child needs 700 dollars a month or even 504 bucks a month to survive?  Especially when their mother is living at home with her parents, works full time and lives virtually bill free.  Im stuck paying the Mortgage, my car payment, my lawyer fees and all the other bills associated.  At this point im on the verge of declaring bankrupcy.

The system is truly fractured.  I will always pay my child support, it will be payed before I buy myself groceries(has already happened a couple times).  But the system is def. set up to screw the dad it seems to me.  I know throughout my custody fight and parenting time ETC and money i have been royally screwed.  Good luck to both of you.

This happens all the time, I remember when Barry Sanders was being sued for $10k/month child support. That isn't child support, that is life-style support. The courts have gone so far off base with the punitive strategy of child support. Now it seems more like a way to punish dads instead of supporting the children. I would love to see a woman pay a father who kept the kids $10k but that will never happen because the courts will say you're the man you provide.  Now Barry's boy is one of the top running back recruits in the country and will make his own ton of money so i hope his dad gives him good advice.  Some athletes are dumb though, Evander Holyfield had 11 kids and was rumored to be paying $3k each for them.

MNM8674... You are a low life POS.  You just throw out a random percentage to try to make a point & the point you made is that you're a f'n moron.  I know plenty of women who do not "waste" their child support.  You only hear about the bad ones because they are not acting right & that's what sells papers & gets hits on a site.  There are many many more good mothers than bad you f*ck.  I wouldn't even attempt to quantify it because that would just mean I am as worthless as you are dirtbag.  Quit making up numbers when you have no means to support your claims & no documentation at all.

Child support should not have anything to do with how much the Father makes . The Mothers just waste the money 99 percent of the time. I have afriend who pays 800 a week. What the hell does the kid need that cost $800 every week? The courts should make the parent who receives the Child support prove that all of the money goes to the kids and not vacations for themselves and big TV's and whatever else they are buying.

Maybe I am an arse, but the fact that he makes less now is his fault, not the moms.  Not matter is she is a gold digger or whatever nefarious plot she had, his dumb arse nailed her wihtout a bag and he should have to pay for the kid....I guess he should have used his multi million dollar deal to buy a $6 box of condoms.

I'm not a laywer but that don't seem right, maybe thier paying alimony? But I do see where you coming from,if you know she's using the money i'd could see you being mad,I know 14k a year isn't as much as it used to be,my 10 yr old girls school cost 6700 a year, thats before anything extra she does or uniforms, but if she's using that money for her or something else I could be psssed, look at it this way, even if it pays her rent your helping your son live comfortable, since you have to pay it anyway don't let it eat at you,I hope one day he grows to be the man you helped him be,but if not you did your best, even sacraficed so he could have every chance possible to make it in a tough world, which you of all people should know how tough this world is...
