Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

Whenever you hear that a quarterback was calling plays during a team's two-minute drill, that's usually pretty impressive. It's even more impressive if that quarterback is on the other team, as Kevin Kolb was on Sunday when Arizona beat Philly 21-17.

Kolb, according to an interview he gave on the radio Tuesday afternoon, was alerting the Cardinals defense as to what plays the Eagles were running on offense near the end of the game.

"During the two-minute drill, you almost feel guilty," Kolb told 94 WIP, per Sheil Kapadia of Philly.com. "Mike’s sitting there giving the signals, and I’m standing there on our sidelines, screaming at our corners, 'Hey it’s a go ball, hey he’s running a screen, hey he’s running a slant.'"

Oddly, after pointing out that he knew all the Eagles plays (on a day when the Eagles stunk it up on offense, no less), Kolb then pointed out that it probably didn't make a difference.

"How much of an effect do I really have?" he said. "I’m screaming to one guy. He may hear me, he may not. Luckily for us at that point, the crowd was pretty dead and some of our guys could maybe hear it."

Maybe it wasn't all Kolb, and certainly injuries to Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin, plus the absence of DeSean Jackson, caused the Eagles offense to slow down significantly. But even then, it's pretty odd that Vick sputtered as much as he did -- 16 of 34, 128 passing yards, two picks, no touchdowns -- against a below-average secondary on a team that happens to feature the last guy to take starting snaps for the Eagles.

Or maybe Kevin Kolb's just a defensive genius. If that's the case, Andy Reid should hire him this offseason.

Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

Hmmm... Who's laughing now... Eagles beat Giants when Young orchestrates 80 yard, 9 minute drive. I don't like the Eagles? But you're a tool with a big mouth. Typical New York,.. Just like the Jets...

Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

I had always suspected that Kevin Kolb is a tool. His latest actions confirmed my suspicions. The question is how long will the Cardinals keep this tool around. Clearly, he has no idea how to play QB. Considering that he now plays for Arizona that's a very sad indictment of Kolb's skills as an NFL QB. Derek Anderson played better than Kolb and he was paid less and was less arrogant.

I wish the Eagles would put Vince Young in so we can all see this dream team come together...

HAHAHAHA!!!  This could be the funniest/most pathetic thing I've heard in a while!  Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh.

Go Giants.  Philly is an ugly step child.

Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

I'm not sure if I'm getting this. Are people actually chastising Kolb for disclosing his former teams' plays to his current team? Wow!! Regardless of his skills, It's not his fault his agent was able to negotiate a lucrative contract for him. God bless him... Do you think when Belichick plays KC on Monday that he doesn't switch up plays fully knowing Cassell is on the sideline privy to some of their playbook? Please. You guys are pathetic... This is squarely on Reid... And for the D-bags who want to use spygate as an example of un-sports-man-like conduct? Everyone was using cameras at the time... Still do. Mangina was just a wuss. Kolb calling his former teams' plays are”case & point” of push the envelope competitiveness in this league...

When your top 2 recievers are hurt and your QB stinks, does your defense really need help? Not taking anything away from what he did but it wasnt Rogers and the Pack or Bradys Pats... I wish the Eagles would put Vince Young in so we can all see this dream team come together...

Well of course Kolb should know the Eagles playbook better than the Cards. He spent four years in Philly with plenty of study time.

I think this was as simple Steven Bowen of Redskins doing fake snap count on Dallas this year. Hurry up or 2 minute calls have to be something easy to signal to players so it is understandable if Eagles did not change them up much or at all. Kolb had 4 years to learn them and should know them as well if not better than Vick with 3 years.

He did not have an offseason in Arizona to learn the system and he is more of a system QB. I think he will do better with time in his new system. Another season or at least an offseason is needed to see if Kolb can be a starter.

I'm not saying he will be a great QB, but as Alex Smith is proving, sometime quarterbacks have to be given time and the right backing.

Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

This is why the house of cards gave this fool all that money--to call plays for the other team especially since he cant even run the plays from his own team---any wonder why teams like this flounder every year---60 mil for a bum that call the other teams plays better than his own---what a joke and embarassment to his team--

Kolb was calling plays during Eagles final drive

Pretty sad when the best thing Kolb has done for his team all year is expose his old teams playbook.

Complete and absolute bust.  But it is also pretty sad that the plays haven't evolved with Vick at QB.  The guy has a unique skill set that is nothing like Kolb's, so they should have different plays in there to try and take advantage of them.

Maybe the Cardinals can flip Kolb over to the NFC East (Redskins like bad QB's) and he can sit with a clipboard when his new team plays em twice a year.
