Leinart confirms he might be done for season

M. Leinart might have broken his collarbone Sunday (AP).Posted by Josh Katzowitz

It appears that the Texans might have lost their second quarterback for the season in back-to-back games. Two weeks ago, it was Matt Schaub and a foot injury, and today, in Houston’s 20-13 win against the Jacksonville, backup Matt Leinart was knocked out of the game with a possible broken collarbone.

"I think there's probably a pretty strong possibility I won't be coming back this season,” Leinart told reporters afterward, indicating he had broken his left collarbone for the second time in his career.

Leinart had played decently in place of Schaub, going 10 of 13 for 57 yards and a touchdown. But after throwing an incomplete pass, he was driven to the ground midway through the third quarter and appeared to hurt his shoulder. Fifth-round rookie T.J. Yates relieved Leinart and managed the game well enough to keep the Texans in front.

Now, it looks like next week’s starter could be a competition between Yates and Kellen Clemens, who signed as the third-string quarterback last week. Since the Texans probably don’t want to play emergency-emergency quarterback Owen Daniels, better known as a tight end, Houston likely will sign another quarterback this week.

Last week, Jeff Garcia, Trent Edwards and Brody Croyle worked out for the Texans, so signing one of those three wouldn’t be a surprise.

Whatever the Texans decide to do in getting another QB, please don't even contemplate asking Favre to join the team.  I would suggest Garcia if they are that drastic for a veteran QB>

Leinart confirms he might be done for season

If Garcia or any of the other QB's who tried out were any good they would already have a job. This team is loaded with talent, but with no reliable QB, talent is wasted. They are 8-3 & they have a pretty favorable schedule with game's against  Atlanta,Carolina,Cincy,Indy,& the Titans.I only see one loss(Atlanta) which would make them 12-4.They should win their very weak division, but if they want to advance in the playoffs, they need to win out to go 13-3 to  get a home game. That means next weeks game Vs Atlanta looms large-For both teams.

I would sign Garcia, he's a Vet only needs to manage the game and with WR Johnson back they could ride him thru out the Playoffs. Plus Garcia can still evade Tacklers.

". But after throwing an incomplete pass, he was driven to the ground midway through the third quarter and appeared to hurt his shoulder. "

You should really fact check this stuff, CBS. Leinart was injured near the end of the 2nd Quarter. Yates came in and led the drive for a FG before the half.

They need to convince Bulger to come back.  The beating he took in St Louis scared him away from football.

Byron Leftwich, if he's still alive and in shape, would be a good fit and give him time to get ready for the playoffs.
