Report: Eagles assistants had to be separated

As if things couldn’t get any worse in Philadelphia, there were reports after the Eagles 38-20 loss to the Patriots that assistant coaches Marty Mornhinweg and Jim Washburn got into a verbal confrontation on the sideline and actually had to be separated before it got physical.

Week 12 in review
And it actually occurred when Philadelphia was still leading New England.

According to CSN Philly, the two have not had problems with each other before, and while there’s been no official word on why the two went after each other on the sideline Sunday, the Philadelphia Daily News speculated that Washburn -- the defensive line coach -- didn’t appreciate the play-calling of Mornhinweg, the offensive coordinator.

Particularly during the second quarter when the Patriots were in the middle of a 17-point spree and Mornhinweg continued calling for pass after pass (you’ll note that Vince Young threw for 400 yards but LeSean McCoy only recorded 10 carries). At one point, the Eagles went three-and-out on three incomplete passes, not giving Philadelphia’s defense enough time to rest.

Which might have contributed to a terrible second quarter for the Eagles defense. Not to mention an upset Washburn.

Not to butt in but you misspelled Jabba, and it's "you're", not "your". Nice Eagles BTW.

Jabababa, don't worry too much about BrianBehind8ball. He's just a New York guy who hates Philly teams and loves to come onto story threads about them so he can trash them. I encountered him recently on a Phillies thread, and he just loves picking fights. Doesn't mean you shouldn't oblige, but don't take him too seriously.

Hey Jets fan get your grammar in order before you start posting.  Jeeeesh are you from the back woods or something?

I love the Jets fans since they are so full of themselves but haven't won a damn thing since Joe Namoth.  Go figure.
Go put your firehat on and go stop complaining Mr Bones.

The Jets were very fortunate this week with the erradict Mr Sanchez - never know where that ball might end up.

I'm a Pat's fan and I come to offer commentary, not sling crap.  McCoy is one of the top 3 backs in the league.  Feed him the rock 10 times a game and you'll lose to Indy.  Andy Reids incompetence and obseession with passing have hurt this franchise for years.  I've never seen such a talented team lack cohesion and chemistry on the field.  Do a Harbaugh and you'll be a SB contender immediately.  Stick with Reid and you'll suck to infinity.  Blue collar beats bling every time.  Good luck.

You're almost right. New England almost went undefeated a few years back with that bling. The Giants who beat them that year didn't exactly do it with their running game. It just depends on who you play. Besides the colts are getting beat both ways so they wouldn't stand a chance if they pass all game.

I started reading more and more of brian8ball comments and am convinced that he has an IQ of less than 80.  I'll have to consult with other phychiatrists in the area but I'm pretty sure he is a moron - and probably can't tie his shoes.

He is challenging people online to fly to NY to fight him - does the Planet of the Apes ring a bell??  Probably not in large skull but small brain.  Large skull good for breaking rock - uga uga

Brian8ball seems like a loser and probably is.

Yes bring up what every coach in the NFL did years ago since that's all you have. The JETS did give the PATS a beat down last year but its not last year.  Why don't you take a look at your fat, lazy team this year and tell us how they are doing.  Not so well right?

Yeah Sanchez is amazing like the announcers keep saying - he is so special.
The defense is splendid as well.

Get your J-E-T-S helmut out of your a@@ and show something.  You should have lost the last game but Cincy will beat you out for the final spot - typical ignorant NY Jets fan.

The Eagles have over the years had a number of black QBs for one reason or the other . Cunningham , McNabb, Vick , Young. Those guys all had positive sides to them no doubt .Could have had them all as just an added way to sell tickets , The same the Mets loaded up on Latin players when Omar Minaya was the G.M.. To capitilize on N.Y.s large latin fan base. Your skin color or nationality can work for you too. Black or not.
