Report: Eagles assistants had to be separated

As if things couldn’t get any worse in Philadelphia, there were reports after the Eagles 38-20 loss to the Patriots that assistant coaches Marty Mornhinweg and Jim Washburn got into a verbal confrontation on the sideline and actually had to be separated before it got physical.

Week 12 in review
And it actually occurred when Philadelphia was still leading New England.

According to CSN Philly, the two have not had problems with each other before, and while there’s been no official word on why the two went after each other on the sideline Sunday, the Philadelphia Daily News speculated that Washburn -- the defensive line coach -- didn’t appreciate the play-calling of Mornhinweg, the offensive coordinator.

Particularly during the second quarter when the Patriots were in the middle of a 17-point spree and Mornhinweg continued calling for pass after pass (you’ll note that Vince Young threw for 400 yards but LeSean McCoy only recorded 10 carries). At one point, the Eagles went three-and-out on three incomplete passes, not giving Philadelphia’s defense enough time to rest.

Which might have contributed to a terrible second quarter for the Eagles defense. Not to mention an upset Washburn.

Who are you to say that? Yea Vick did all that. But did you forget he went to jail and did his time? What more do you want from the guy he did his time dont hate on a team for picking up a talented QB. He might have killed dogs in his earlier days but thats the passed. Everyone and i mean EVERYONE deserves a second chance. So dont hate on a man that has been through WAYYY more then you jail is not a pretty place trust me.

Assistants going after one another?  Was it, well... you know, like a 'junkyard dog' type of encounter?  If it was, the Dogkillers have an animal torturing, convicted felon on their team who has a proven track record of 'taking care of' such problems in his own, 'special' way.

Sorry, Philly fans... for some of us, the hatred is incredibly strong, yes, but it's directed at the TEAM - not you.  For us, 'Karma' is looking beautiful at present.  They chose to bring that disgusting piece of filth (and my words there aren't NEARLY strong enough) onto their team, so they deserve all the hatred spewed in their direction that they get.

Pathetic

This team may be the worst "whole team bust" in history. I've never seen so much individual talent get b**ch-slapped as a group like these guys in my entire 45 years. Andy is toast, M-wheg is a daddy's boy wrecking his father's family history for good football, and washburn is so balls deep into his gimic defense daring teams to run that he's blowing the best chance he'll ever have to coach a number 1 crew of NFL defenders. My guess is that Norv Turner gets fired by the Chargeres this year and the Eagles immediately sign him to make Vick the QB he always should have been. Reid replaces the dummy running the show in Tampa, and the Chargeres hire a another former Raider coach (take your pick).

Report: Eagles assistants had to be separated

I wish Big Red new how to make adjustments during the game.  DEFENSE:  Good first quarter againist Brady.  Brady goes spread offense and picks us apart the balance of game.  No adjustment.  OFFENSE:  Here's an idea, have our second string QB throw all day and our MVP running back stay in to block.

Time for Lurie to grow a set and clean house.

Time's yours.

McCoy was terrible yesterday.  31 yards on 10 rushes and one of those broke for 22.  Vince Young was the only reason we were in the game the first half and had Jackson caught a couple of passes the game woulda been much closer.  Either way, we are a LOWER-MIDDLE TIER team and the Patriots are a MIDDLE-UPPER TIER team.  No coach in the league could of won that game for us yesterday.  THEY ARE BETTER THAN US...plain and simple.
