Early Saturday morning, Lions star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, currently suspended by the NFL, was involved in a single-car accident in downtown Portland.

According to Portland Police, via KOIN Channel 6 News, officers responded to reports of a single-car that crashed into a tree at Southwest 3rd and Burnside Street in downtown Portland. Suh was the driver of the 1970 Chevrolet Coupe and, according to police, hit a curb, a light pole, a drinking fountain and a tree.

Officers determined that Suh was not impaired and "simply lost control of his vehicle." Neither Suh, a native of Portland, nor the two other passengers in the car were injured according to the report.

The timing of the incident is a bit odd -- Suh is in the middle of serving the aforementioned suspension for his now infamous actions in Detroit's Thanksgiving loss. (He appealed the suspension but lost.) But it makes sense that Suh was in Portland, primarily because the defensive tackle isn't allowed to practice with the Lions while serving his suspension.

Cal - I'm guessing you're calling me the grammar cop ?

I wasn't being a grammar cop , I was sarcastically pointing out CBS's factual mistakes -

And aren't you being a grammar cop also or should that be "punctuation cop" ?

This is not like an article where the writer submits it and has it egitted [?] for any mistakes before it is posted.  Its the same as us typing here in the comments
Actually, no, I wouldn't say so.  His writing is given sort of special treatment here, wouldn't you say?  Sort of like a column in a traditional newspaper, which they now (unlike traditional newspapers) give us the opportunity to quickly comment on.  And don't be too sure that nobody else there even sees it before it goes out over cyberspace to the multitudes.

how many of you sit there and proof read before you post???
Actually, we should, and many of us try to, though admittedly I (for one) don't always do a very good job at it.  But if we were expected to be as good at all this as he is, they could have gotten any of us to write the column rather than him, right?

By the way, jltexas, do you still think Michael Vick should have played against the Giants despite his broken ribs?

Drinking fountain?  Portland has drinking fountains near its streets?  (Funny, I didn't see any when I was there overnight in August.  Guess I didn't look hard enough.)
Anyway, what kind of "drink" do the fountains contain?  Maybe the fountain was Suh's real target!  I see that Evan Dietrich-Smith played for Idaho State.  Could he by any chance have come from fairly-nearby Portland?  Maybe there's more of a story here than we think!

No, maybe I really shouldn't be joking about all this.  But it's so hard not to . . .

Not good but it is good to hear that Suh is alright and he will have plenty of time to relax and get his mind right for the playoff push. He should come back focused and ready to play at a high level without making mistakes and playing like the player we all know he is capable of being and dominating the game and being a beast out there.

PEOPLE this is a BLOG!!!! The BLOG appears on here as it is typed, they post it and edit it as it goes along. This is not like an article where the writer submits it and has it egitted for any mistakes before it is posted.  Its the same as us typing here in the comments, how many of you sit there and proof read before you post???   You do not see Brinson writing articles here on CBS just a blogger, the same as us making comments.  Quit being azzholes and trying to be an editor for CBS, all that does is show how little a life you really have.

Re my last post, the story in question was "Three Sundays in a Week". It was published, I believe, in 1841.  (And, okay, maybe it did deal with the problem from a slightly different standpoint, but . . .)
