Vick on Week 14: 'I'll definitely be out there'

Saying that the Eagles season is "hanging in the balance" would be an insult to all the ornaments dangling periously on our Christmas tree right now, but the Eagles aren't "technically" eliminated, so there's still some hope for 2011, however slim.

Adding to that hope is the fact that Michael Vick says he'll "definitely" return in Week 14 against the Dolphins.

"Yeah, absolutely," Vick told reporters after practice on Monday. "This Sunday I’ll definitely be out there. I feel like I’ve got to be accountable for my team. I want to be there. You know, I just want to get back to doing what I love to do, and that’s playing the game of football. There’s nothing in this world like the game.

"I put my heart and soul into it, man, and I just wish I could have been out there the last three weeks, but it just hasn’t panned out that way. We’ve got to keep our heads up and keep moving in the right direction."

Everything's obviously not all roses in Philly, as the Eagles are 4-8. Plus, Vick says his injured ribs still aren't fully healed.

"I won’t say they’re 100-percent, but we’ve still got a week to go, I get better each and every day," Vick said. "Still working hard in the treatment room to try to get better, but I went out and had a great practice and I feel good."

It doesn't make much sense to bring Vick back unless he's actually ready, but the Eagles have been pretty patient by keeping him on the bench over the past three weeks as they went 1-2 with Vince Young struggling under center.

And while there's no reason to get any hope up about a potential run to the playoffs, it is still possible. All the Eagles have to do is win out (4-0, obviously) and have the Cowboys go 1-3 and the Giants go 2-2.

That scenario is made difficult by the fact that the Cowboys and Giants play each other twice -- someone has to win ... but someone has to lose, too! -- but I suppose weirder things have happened.

DetroitBailer, there are rib injuries and there are rib injuries.  Don't show your ignorance by assuming they're all the same.

Vick on Week 14: 'I'll definitely be out there'

The EAGLES will never win with Vick at QB.  Once they signed him it was like signing a decade of bad karma.  He is a loser and a poor excuse for a human.  All I know is that each game he gets hurt my dog and I start laughing.  Each injury is a small payback of what he deserves and soon he will take a shot that makes him a cripple.  Then balance will return to the EAGLES franchise.  Until then enjoy your poor excuse of a QB.

Vick on Week 14: 'I'll definitely be out there'

The usual complement of macho posturers are loose on the boards today, I see.

Well, look at it this way: both the Eagles and Vick are .500 on the road this year, and the club does usually play well with plenty of rest, and some other guys should be getting healthy, too.  Hey, in addition to winning out, all we need is for the Giants and Cowboys to split (reasonable); the Giants to lose to either the Jets or Washington (they've done the latter once this year already), and the Cowboys to lose to Tampa Bay on the road (hey, if they can lose to the Cardinals on the road they can lose to the Bucs, right?).  Voila!  Eagles win the division!!  (That 5-1 division record will do it for ya every time. . .)

Seriously, let it play out, gentlemen and others.  And try not to let your hatred get in the way too much.

Vick on Week 14: 'I'll definitely be out there'

Well, IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! Vick is a loser and a pu$$y! Three weeks because of a couple of broken ribs?? Really? Romo broke two ribs and came back IN THE SAME GAME!! My advice to Vick? Go back to stalking the animal shelters. Even when you are on the field, YOU SUCK!!!

Good news for the Dolphins since Vick sucks. How this buffoon suckered 2 teams into $100 million contracts is beyond amazing.

Vick on Week 14: 'I'll definitely be out there'

It is never too late for Philly to begin preperations for next season.
The first order of priority is to pay off Vick and get his malefic influence out of the clubhouse. The players might say he's a nice guy but that only means they do not see the malaise he brings to the clubhouse.
At best he gets injured again. He is now over 30 and everyone is stronger and faster. At worst he stays around to destroy the next year or two of the Eagles.
They should have kept Kolb and built on him. Aaron Rodgers took 5 years. Alex Smith took 6 years. Even McNabb took several years to know the defenses. Ditto Brady
Vick is a lousy passer, he cannot throw the long ball and is poor at reading the defenses since he always just pulled the ball down and ran at the first sign of trouble. So it will always be with him.
He lied to all the people of Atlanta and didn't give crap about destroying the faith of the youth who supported him in Atlanta. He will always be hated there.
Give him the money the fools at the top offered and send him on his way.
There is no need to say anything about Vince Young except to release him after the season and don't let him take up space belonging to a possible future QB

gman, you want a straw?  nobody cares about your whiney wanna be be tough guy nonsense.  Players get hurt, deal with it.  People dont do things you like and still get rich EVERY DAY.  Vick was released almost three years ago.  Let it go! You cant possibly still be in disbelief.
