How to buy Green Bay Packers stock (right now!)

If you've always wanted to be a partial owner of an NBA team, but just didn't have the mustache money to make it happen, you have your chance on Tuesday. The Green Bay Packers are currently offering up for sale 250,000 individual shares of the team's stock for $250.

We previously mentioned that the stock would go on sale Tuesday, and it can now be purchased at PackersOwner.com.

We should note precisely what the website notes, which is "common stock does not constitute an investment in 'stock' in the common sense of the term." Which, put more simply, means you're not making an "investment" per se. If you purchase one of these shares, you shouldn't expect the Packers to win another Super Bowl and then get a bunch of dividends in return.

Instead, you're going to "help fund the Lambeau Field expansion project."

But it's not all just donating. You will be "invited to shareholder meetings and have voting privileges." Each piece of stock also comes with its own $25 "handling fee," so that's something too. (Wait, that's bad. Nevermind. But it's there.)

And the Packers, per their Offering Document, can actually offer up to 880,000 shares this time around, depending on how well the shares sell on Tuesday.

Basically, it boils down to the idea that the Packers are a publicly-owned company, they need money to make their awesome stadium even more awesome and they're offering fans a chance to "buy in" to the company just 19 days before the biggest gift-giving day of the entire year.

If you're a life-long Packers fan, it's a pretty cool thing to hop on, because you'll end up getting a locker room tour and a nifty little certificate that says you're an owner of the NFL's only publicly-run franchise.

Just don't think you're going to end up making any money out of it, or get to tell Mike McCarthy when he should go for two.

It would be cool to have one of them on the wall in the man cave if i was from GB/wisconsin but for 250.00 is a little steep for alot of people, espically because it really is just a poster and worthless but would be cool to own if your from wisconsin etc... but it would of been cooler if GB charged only 50.00 to 100.00 a piece for them because then everyone and thier grandmothers in GB could own one and the state of wisconsin. then everyone could afford them and also give them to people as gifts and etc... i also think they would sell tons more and make more money because then everyone could afford one, it would be a great stocking stuffers but for 250.00 each not so much, espically if you have 2 or 3 kids etc... I just think they are charging the people in wisconsin way to much for them or the people born in wisconsin should get a discount versus people buying them outside of the state, but they shouldnt ask for 250.00 a piece, when really you only get a piece of paper in return.

Read the agreement and you will see what a facist organization the NFL really is....you can't resell it, you can't give it away(unless to family) and the stock holds no $ value. You can't EVEN CRITICIZE the NFL or any of its teams.... It is a $250 piece of paper you can post on your wall and show off.  Better you go buy an autographed picture of Bart Starr my friend...Packer fan or not.

People make fun of it BUT how many blow $250 going out and partying on a weekend? How many people spend $1,000 on a video of their wedding that trust me no one else cares about? 2 tickets to 1 game cost more than the "stock certificate" and all you have are ticket stubs. Buy a Rodgers and Matthews fathead for $200 and take them down when they are no longer Packers (how many people still have their Favre fatheads up?) The waiting list is hundreds of years long for season tickets. The certificate is something you can hang on your wall forever and know you were in a very small way part of the Packer organization.
GO PACK GO!

If your not a Packers fan.... take a hike- we honestly don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about our state, the organization or our team. Watch how fast they sell out..... and any true fan will want one :) You'd probably find quite a few fans who would simply contribute just to save the team if it was necessary- it's happened in the past and we'll stand by our team no matter what. If you don't understand that.... be gone- and leave us to it :) Don't forget that we've won 18 in a row... and been to 5 Super Bowls winning 4- that should speak for itself.
