Andrew Luck, CBSSports.com's No. 1 overall prospect in the draft, already said he's "absolutely" ready for the NFL and looks primed to enter the draft, regardless of how the Heisman Trophy ceremony plays out.

And another top prospect is NFL-bound as well: Justin Blackmon, the top-ranked wide receiver (and No. 7 overall prospect) on NFLDraftScout.com's big board, is a different story.

Blackmon told ESPN on Wednesday that he intends to declare for the draft following Oklahoma State's appearance against Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.

"I'm pretty sure that it will be [my last game)," Blackmon said. "I think it's just time. It's that time to go. I came back last year to win a Big 12 championship, set us up for a BCS bowl and I think we did that."

Blackmon's decision, provided the Rams continue their spiral back into putridity, is probably a good one. Both St. Louis and Cleveland (as my colleague Ryan Wilson noted last night) look like teams with high picks that need a playmaker at wide receiver.

In Rang's latest mock draft, Blackmon's currently slated to go off the board No. 2 overall to St. Louis.

It's scary that we're already at the point of the season (Week 14 and beyond) where the NFL Draft starts to come into focus, because that means the actual football season is wrapping up. But we're here, and we're starting to get some idea of what prospects will be leaving college football to make their way into the pros.

I am still waiting for the explanaition from the OU fan who thinks Blackmon is a head case....  He did get into trouble driving some friends who had a few drinks,,, he was sober, and the designated driver for th group, which coicedently is waht we sell to kids is the right thing to do.  This was about a year and a half ago,,,, which is a decade ago to a 20 year old.  Meanwhile the guy that all the OU fans say is such a nice quality and character guy is Broyles,,,, who consequently got caught stealing gas 3 years ago,,, again a long time ago to a kid growing up.  I dont think either one is a head case but the perspective of the idiot typing.  Both those guys as well as just about anybody that went to college for 4 years did things that they wouldnt do later in life, but then again some of you so called fans didnt really go to college, you just live vicaiously through them later in life.

Blackmon is a head case also, so beware whoever drafts him. He's a talent with no brains, h will need a babysitter to keep him straight once his pockets are full os cash

How About the Jags stop drafting guys from the middle of nowhere and give Gabbert ag guy to throw the ball too. He's really the only weapon they need to be back in the hunt, That and a few defensive studs

Vikings are pretty sorry looking team too.  Wouldnt be surprised if they end up with a top first round pick! This guy would compliment Harvin wonderfully!

"And with questions about arm strength, go with the WR over the QB."

Yeah your right, arm strenght is extremely important, just ask Jamarcus Russell. And that Joe Montana guy didnt have a very strong arm, i dont know why the 49ers ever drafted that "noodle arm."  You see what i just did there?? i destroyed your stupid theory.......thank you come again

Define late pick...Cutler and Big Ben were 11th overall, i'd say those are pretty high draft picks.
