Big Ben limps down the steps to the locker room after Pittsburgh beat Cleveland last Thursday. (AP)

By Will Brinson

The Steelers wrapped up Saturday's practice and there's some good news/bad news for Pittsburgh relating to Monday's game agianst the 49ers. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was limited in practice and is questionable to play Monday in San Francisco. However, center Maurkice Pouncey, dealing with an ankle injury, has been ruled out.

Week 15 Preview

Roethlisberger suffered a high ankle injury last Thursday in a 14-3 win over Cleveland but eventually returned to lead the Steelers to a victory over the Browns.

Much of the talk about whether or not Ben should play revolves around not Monday and/or how he's feeling then, but rather Sunday night.

That's when the Ravens and Chargers play, and if San Diego can win, it sure seems like Roethlisberger becomes more likely to play. After all, a Baltimore loss plus a Pittsburgh win on Monday means the Steelers are tracking for the top seed in the AFC.

A Baltimore win, though, and it's going to ridiculously tough for the Steelers to top the Ravens in the standings.

Of course, Roethlisberger's not exactly known for not playing hurt -- a lot of teammates believe that he plays better when he's injured, and we're not inclined to disagree.

So if you see him suit up on Monday, don't be shocked despite reports that his ankle hurts worse now than it did when he returned to the game against the Browns.

You guys are so funny.  Only a moron would think he isn't going to play.  Overrated  LOL whatever.  I'll take the Steelers over any team in the AFC including Baltimore if it's at home.  You think the Texans can beat the Steelers please.  Or the Broncoes or the Jets.  Whatever haters.

W/O B Roth the Steelers are toast.  They have only beaten ONE TEAM on the road with a winning record WITH BEN (the Bengals).  The Steelers have only beaten TWO teams with a winning record all season (Bengals and NE).  Overrated? Yep.  Especially with Pounce and Harrison out and Troy banged up.  Stop being die hard fans and keep it real Pitt sycophants.

Don't forget, that even if the Steelers win out and San Diego beats the Ravens, the Texans will still have to lose one in order for the Steelers to get the number one seed.

That is correct, IF the Ravens win out. The Ravens do hold the tie-breaker, but SD and the Steelers win, there is no tie. The Steelers win the division. (assuming both teams hold serve)

Not if Pittsburgh finishes with a better record.

You are not correct. If San Diego wins and the Steelers wins, Steelers control their own destiny and if they beat St Louis and Cleveland, they will win the divison and get the higher seed.

If I am correct, Baltimore actually beat the Steelers twice. So if I completely understand everything, Ravens will be the division winner and the higher seed in the playoffs and still putting the Steelers at the 5th or 6th seed if the Steelers win the rest of their games.
