The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

Thank You ! great post, Eli before Romo and Stafford is a joke. Truth is no one wants to see honolulu blue on the pro bowl roster, that's fine ! Hope the Lions see the Giants in the playoffs !Cool Our Time !

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

THE DETROIT LIONS OFFENSIVE LINE IS GARBAGE! how many OL on the detroit lions were considered for the ALL PRO? 0 ...but yet i seen 2 NYG OL in the running to make it.

This is silly. Chris Snee has been great in years past, but he's garbage this year. If you're going to whine about Eli's name recognition, you have to remember it cuts both ways - no Giant lineman belongs anywhere near any All-Pro list, and yet here we are. By the same token, strong Lions line play goes unrecognized by idiot voters because hey, don't know these guys yet. And All-Pros on the line and defense don't mean much...you can have a bunch of solid players on defense OR the line and have a great defense/line, while JPP doesn't make the Giants defense good. It's a terrible defense with a great end. And NOTHING about the Giants line is anything good at all. Your yelling about the Detroit line being garbage does not make it so. The best information at my disposal - my eyes, and the one attempt I've found to quantify line play - say I'm right and you are wrong. Your eyes may disagree, but you have no numbers to back them up.

also if detroit has all this talent.....why couldnt shawn hill or drew stanton lght up the stats last year when they were playing with the exact same offense minus titus young?

Because Matt Stafford is significantly better than Hill or Stanton. In fact, he is Pro Bowl caliber. But not ahead of Eli this year. Stafford is a great QB who makes the talent around him better, Eli has had a great season this year and has made his (lesser) talent better as well. They can both be great, chives, but only one of them can be the third QB this year. Eli's earned it by overcoming objectively worse line play, running support, and defense support. Also, I said that Burleson (number 2 receiver) is the ONLY offensive position which NY has a advantage on (Cruz/Nicks beats him). Every other Lions offensive position trumps the Giants one. And don't give me this crap, Manningham is simply awful, watch him this year. He barely knows what day it is out there.

we have NO run game! if it wasnt for best playing in only 5 games ayear maybe our run game would be better, but having k smith,m morris and k williams is hardly having jacobs OR bradshaw....either of them could start for the lions NOW!

You're an idiot. Really. Kevin Smith has a 5.1 YPC average. Morris has a 4.0. Jacobs and Bradshaw are at 3.8 and 3.9. Morris vs Bradshaw is a wash (probably would keep Bradshaw, he's tough and a fantastic blitz pickup-er) but Morris is much better than Jacobs, and Smith is much better than both. MUCH better.

you ever think that since its per ATTEMPT, that staffords is a little lower because he has thrown 50 more passes?

No. This is only relevent if there was a small-sample-size effect going on here. There is not. Both Stafford and Eli have thrown a LOT of passes. The fifty extra ones by Stafford at this point mean very little. And if you're going to mention that 99 yard play, I will absolutely call Stafford out on the plays in which Stafford throws the ball up and Megatron miraculously pulls it down. Nice if you can get it; Eli can't. In all honesty, there's only one homer here, and it's you. At least I'm backing my arguments up well and coherently.

I agree manning would be doing much better if his receivers, H Nicks! could catch the ball, but I still think Stafford is more deserving.  I also think M Lynch should get in to replace Forte. And J Nelson more deserving than Jennings.  but i do understand its a popularity contest

Stafford should easily be in. Thats a joke. But just as big a miss is Cliff Avrill at DE. This guy is a monster and having a fantastic year. Thats alright though because none of the Detroit Lions will need to play that week, because they all will be playing a week later! SUUUHHHHHHHH!!!

Eli only makes any list because of his last name. If it was Jones or Smith, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. People need to remember the Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

wow giants you sound dumber and dumber and dumber and dumber.......who cares about some website called focusfootball or whatever its called....THE DETROIT LIONS OFFENSIVE LINE IS GARBAGE! how many OL on the detroit lions were considered for the ALL PRO? 0 ...but yet i seen 2 NYG OL in the running to make it......you scream about your defense? how many detroit lions made ALL PRO on defense? 0 giants? 1...plus had another one in contention.

you say staffords not clutch because he just throws the ball up to megatron? but yet manning was clutch in 07 in the superbowl you said? didnt eli just throw a ball up for grabs on the game winning drive in the superbowl?  but that was clutch huh?

" but Burleson has been solid for years "

solid? for years? 55 catches? 63? 5?  50? 18? 30? 68? 29? those are his catch totals for the last 8 years.
hakeem nicks has 71,79, and 47 in his 3 years. burelson has NEVER reached 70 catches. nicks has twice in his first 3 years.
burelson has ONE 1000 yard recieving year  back in 04...cruz and nicks BOTH had one this year.  nicks also had one last year. you talk bad about manningham but look at his last 2 years...they are just like burelson's numbers...he has 60 and 57 catches in the last 2 seasons.....so dont giveme that crap about eli's recievers.

just sounds like you are making excuses...o-line, defense, running game...blah blah blah blah...all you got to do is look at the two QB'snumbers! you act like the lions have all this talent...they were 0-16 three years ago.....also if detroit has all this talent.....why couldnt shawn hill or drew stanton lght up the stats last year when they were playing with the exact same offense minus titus young?

"DET's line is top ten in the league in pass blocking"

wow stay off them dumb websites.....give me ONE decent lineman on the lions team. stafford has been sacked 34 times!!!!!   we have NO run game! if it wasnt for best playing in only 5 games ayear maybe our run game would be better, but having k smith,m morris and k williams is hardly having jacobs OR bradshaw....either of them could start for the lions NOW!

"  but you forgot yards-per-attempt, where Eli has Stafford BEAT(8.3 to 7.48). That's a big difference - Eli makes more big plays than Stafford does, and that's WITHOUT a beast like Megatron"

you ever think that since its per ATTEMPT, that staffords is a little lower because he has thrown 50 more passes? yea eli really made a big play when cruz made all them men miss for a 90 some yard TD this week...what did manning do? throw a 8 yard pass that cruz, who you claim is not a weapon takes it the rest of the way.

"  Victor "I'm the only good receiver on this team and yet was undrafted" Cruz"

dumb comment....who cares if or where he was drafted.....jerry rice? t owens? hell even w welker....none of them were 1st round picks...geeez watta dummy

new york fans are the worst!  the guy doesnt realize that hes the only one on here that actually thinks eli is ALL PRO worthy.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

I love how everyone bashing Eli Manning being selected seems like a moron since either because they can't spell correctly, or do not realize that he has a sub-par offensive line, a terrible running game & the dumbest receivers with the worst hands I've ever seen in the NFL. If Rodgers, Brees & Brady weren't having record breaking years, Eli Manning would be the league MVP.  The Giants would have two wins, if that, without Eli Manning this season.

Cam Newton = Stafford > Romo > Eli Manning.

The NFC East is the most overrated division of all time.  They play the same football as everyone else, the announcers just get more excited.  The NFC East is mediocre this year, only to make things worse.
