The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

i am laughing my a** off on your comments.   that was great.  eli is so overated but he did lead me to a fantasy championship on fox sports because i had mccoy, jones drew, jennings, gronkowski, jimmy graham, gotskowski, janikowski, steelers defense along with 49ers, and i almost forgot,  welker and aj green and roddy white.   hell i could have started a pet monkey at QB and won.

You are so silly big daddy 18.  Even I won my fantasy championship in my 1 team league.  In fact, I picked Lesean McCoy, Ray Rice, Arian Foster, Calvin Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker, Aaron Rodgers, 49ers D and David Akers with my first 9 picks.  I almost forgot....on my bench I had Maurice Jones-Drew, Drew Brees, Jordy Nelson and Jimmy Graham.  I dominated my 1 team league.  Heck, I could have had Joe Paterno at QB and still won.  16-0 to win the coveted title!

Eli over Romo???  What a joke this thing has become.  Nobody cares about the game and no one really watches it either.

Half of these players won't play in the actual game and 10-15 players will be added in so we are far from done.

Eh, nobody really cares TBH. It's just fun to argue about it...sometimes it's fun to get a little riled up over nothing. Of course they're all deserving. But what's the fun in that?

People, why do some of you take this so serious????????   Who really cares?  The players don't for the most part.
As for NFC QB:
Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Stafford, Romo
are ALL deserving. After Rodgers and Brees, the other 3 were almost interchangeable, but they probably got it right with Manning there.
But like I said, why do really care that much?

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

Man, does anybody here watch any Giants games at all, or do they just look at the stat line and call it a day (like the CBSsports writers)? Eli has 2 good RBs? Bradshaw and jacobs have been awful the whole season, and have the league's worst rushing performance. Eli has 3 weapons? Anybody who has EVER watched a Giants game would know Mario "on any given play I don't know what route I'm supposed to run" Manningham is a "weapon" the way Nick Cage is an "actor." Dude is terrible, erratic and drop-prone, Eli has turned him into a weapon, were he playing for most other teams he'd have been cut. And Nicks IS a weapon...when he's not busy dropping 6 passes in the last two games! Which is a microcosm of his season! So HE'S a true "weapon the way Braylon Edwards is a "weapon." Even Cruz - who dat? He's playing stunningly, but a lot of that is from Eli. Detroit ground game>NY one, Pettigrew>Ballard, Titus Young>Manningham (seriously), Nicks and Cruz>Burleson but <<<Megatron. Eli does not have a freak at wide receiver, he has Cruz, who should be in the Pro Bowl but come on, man if you think they're close. Detroit defense BETTER this year than the Giants's? Are you high? Lions ranked 20th this year, Giants ranked 28th in defense.

And NOBODY is saying I'm wrong about the O-lines, because I'm not. The highly unpartisan, ranking the O-lines on Dec. 8, put Detroits pass-blocking at SEVENTH in the league and NY's at THIRTY FIRST. That's SECOND TO LAST, compared to top ten. That's a SUBSTANSIVE difference, and that must have a huge impact on Eli's numbers. That's the point: his numbers are good, but to compare Stafford's superior numbers to his is apples and oranges. Would you compare someone's HR counts at Coors and at Tropicana directly? No, the situations are not comparable. Even the home stadiums - Stafford plays in a beautiful dome, Eli outside in New Jersey in the swirling winds. No love for that? Eli has the positional advantage only at No. 2 receiver, and no other part of his team - no love for that? At least five of his picks, by my count, this year came directly due to receivers dropping passes that bounced poorly - wihout those, he would have less picks than Stafford - no love for that? Eli has the SECOND WORST LINE IN THE LEAGUE - no love? And as for the voting, 1/3 is fans, so maybe people in NY would vote for him. But, uhm, have you ever actually MET anyone who only likes Eli because he's a Manning? You haven't. They don't exist, especially not in NY or NJ. People HATE Eli because he's not Peyton, not the other way around. And 2/3 of the vote is players and coaches - so they must at LEAST be split darn evenly on the Stafford/Manning line. And the last game - 9 of 27 - MAN that sucked, didn't it? Fortunately, the Pro Bowl is based on a whole season. Nobody' kicking Brady out for his 4-pick game earlier this year.

Not a homer. I like Eli, but mostly I feel bad for him - he will never get a good rap, thanks to where he plays and who his brother is. Same with Romo, I want to punch the guy in the face when I see that stupid hat too, and he's a little girl, but the girl can play some QB. Witten's been no good this year if you watch the games, Austin's been hurt, Robinson is out of nowhere and a lot of his good play can be attributed to Romo's. If not for two missed field goals, they'd be in the playoffs already. With Eli here, I'm mostly playing devil's advocate (because I do believe he's worthy over Stafford), and since I'm making very reasonable arguements, responses better than "Matty has more TD passes and less picks!!1!" from all you Lions fans (of whom I'm rooting this year) would be nice.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

The league wonders why people don't watch this game?  Woodson, Matthews, Gates, R. Lewis, Any Jet OL, Freeney, Reed, Polamalu...they are all a joke.  The Packer defense is statistcally and visually one of the worst out there.  Gates missed about a 1/3 of the season, Ray Lewis and Reed are shells of their former selves, As a Jet fan the OL couldn't block anyone this year, just ask Sanchez.  Freeney might be the worst pick of all.  Are we looking at his 2008 stats?  And Polamalu it's just plain criminal.  There are too many young guys with talent today that have been shafted because the league wants the big names out on the field.  This is why nobody watches.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

Its an embarrassment Eli is in the Pro Bowl, because he dooesn't rank in the top five let alone the top three. Here is your top three quarterback rankings in the NFC by catagory. This should be your Pro Bowl Quarterback lineup.

QB Rating

1) A. Rodgers 122.5
2) D. Brees 108.4
3) T. Romo 102.2

You forgot a few stats:

Worst running game in the NFL: Giants -therefore, teams KNOW Eli Manning is going to pass and he is still on pace to throw for almost 5,000 yards.

Best 4th qtr QB rating in the NFL : Eli Manning

People say Stafford has no weapons and Eli has all these weapons...really??? Because when the season began did anyone really think that Victor Cruz and Jake Ballard were weapons??? No - Eli MADE them weapons - that's what uneducated football fans don't get - Calvin Johnson was an established elite receiver - Eli had ONE established receiver in Nicks, and it was only Nicks' second season - so really, he wasn;t exactly established either....

Burleson has had 50+ catches in 5 of the last 7 seasons - so how is he not a "weapon"?? How is someone like Burleson less of a weapon than Victor Cruz, who has atarted a grand total of 6 games in his entire career???

And then theres Pettigrew - who had 71 catches last season - how exactly is he less of a weapon than Jake Ballard, who was primarily a BLOCKING Tight End in college, who is also playing in his first season in the NFL.

Now let's get to the running backs - Best, Morris, and Smith all average between 4 and 5 yards per carry - Bradshaw and Jacobs average 3.8-3.9. And the Giants have the worst ranked running game in the NFL.

Stafford takes way too many sacks, and his avg yards per attempt is  7.5 while Eli's is 8.25

There is a LOT of evidence showing how Eli is the better QB having the better season.

If it weren't for a really hot stretch in December in which Stafford played 3 pathetic non-playoff teams, his numbers wouldn't even be close to Eli's or Romo's.

Stafford's QB rating by down drops every down (1st down is his highest, then 2nd is lower, then 3rd is lowest) - which is predictable, because teams are expecting pass on 3rd down much more than on first down - yet Eli's numbers are exactly the opposit - his 1st down rating is his worst and his 3rd down rating is his best - 103.6. That's an AMAZING stat. Only Aaron Rodgers (not Brady, not Brees) has a similar upswing in QB rating by down.

So yeah, when you look at the WHOLE PICTURE, Stafford hasn't nearly accomplished what Eli has this season.
