The game will be played in Hawaii on Jan. 29, 2012, and though this roster most likely will turn over a few times (and alternatives will be added to the list to fill out the roster), it's still an honor for anybody's name to be included on this list.

As a long time lions fan who has had to endur all the bad seasons...I firmly AGREE with you,Matthew Stafford should be there.I will also throw another player out there Cliff Avril,I believe 10 sacks 2 TDS for an End that is pretty darn good.

stafford vs eli, stafford has 1 weapon eli has 3, eli has 2 good rbs stafford has 0, eli has a better d, yet stafford has a better record, way more clutch with breaking the record for most double digit comebacks in a year, stafford vs romo, once again 1 weapon to romos 4, romo has better rbs and a better d, yet lions have a better record beat romo in dallas where romo once again sucked a huge lead in the clutch, do u guys watch football at all

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

Eli over Stafford?  What a joke.   Stafford has 10 more TDs, 2 less INTs, a higher rating, a higher completion percentage, more completions, more attempts, and more wins.   The only things Eli has are 69 more yards and 1 Hall of Fame daddy.

His daddy is not in the Hall of Fame. His daddy also has absolutely no impact on why people and players vote for him. Eli was voted in over Stafford because Eli was better in the clutch, had significantly fewer weapons, and yet produced a comparable season. See my comprehensive post below, and get your head out of your butt.
Eli Manning plays in the largest market on Earth, and Stafford plays in a realitively small market.  Eli's popularity is due to the large fan base of the Giants.  Were their teams reversed, I am sure their roes in the Pro Bowl would be as well.  Manning had a good season, but Stafford had a great season.  Lots of people talk about Eli not having any weapons, they undervalue Cruz. Stafford has Johnson, who is the best receiver in the league, yet he still only accounts for roughly a quarter of Staffords total passing yards.  After Johnson, there are no more real strong weapons, and he has what I would consider a weak backfield, and plays on a team that is historically terrible.  I am happy for Eli, he had a good season, but so did Stafford, but odds are Stafford will still get in, somebody is going to have to replace Rodgers or Brees when they make the Super Bowl, and that name will be Stafford, who else could they really pick?

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

The pro bowl is a popularity contest plain and simple, always has been, always will be, no need to extoll the virtues of Cruz, or Romo, or Stafford. Every year deserving players are passed over, happens all the time, that's why Rivers is going to Hawaii, and Andy Dalton will be at home.  None of the pther major proffesional leagues have a much better sytem, an none of them are merit based. NBA is a straight up popular vote, MLB is almost more ridiculous, they mandate every team get a represenative, so then other deserving players don't make it.  I confess to not knowing or caring how the NHL selects their all-star game, but my guess is that it is not merit based. The pro bowl is worthless, and was rendered even more so by being moved to before the Super Bowl.  I can't even remember the last time that I watched the game, at least in other sports the all-star game is moved around so other cities get a chance to host it, and other fans get an opportunity to watch it, the pro bowl is a pure joke, if it didn't make so much money, it would cease to exist, but with all the $$$$$$$$ floating around it will remian exactly the way it is, unless they can figure out a way to make even more money off of the worthless game.
