Wow, the NFL leader in tackles by nearly 20, London Fletcher, is not elected to the Pro Bowl again....   He only leads the NFL in tackles for the last decade, and has never been voted as anything but an alternative.

What an embarrassment for the NFL that Eli Manning was selected over Matthew Stafford. Stafford outperformed Manning in the categories of completion percentage, touchdown passes, touchdown passes per pass attempt, interceptions (total and per attempt) and quarterback rating. Not to mention, Stafford has his team in the playoffs at 10-5 while Manning, at 8-7, is still blowing in the wind. Come on man, that's embarrassing NFL. Get it right.

it's really Jennings who should sit out for Cruz, not Fitz. Even should he have played all 15 games to this point Fitz would still have him thrashed in both yds. and yds./game

Ah, but Victor Cruz doesn't NEED defending. It's obvious that he should be in, I don't know of anyone who disagrees. Eli's trickier - he deserves to be in, but the stats don't tell the whole story. That's why he needs to be defended. I'm not biased, btw - it's just infuriating that Eli gets smashed even when he has a good season. I hate Tony Romo's guts, but he is the ONLY QB who I would be okay with passing Eli for the fourth spot - and he gets the same hate treatment as Eli, and needs defending too, even when he plays well. Of course, not going to advocate for Romo here - Eli deserves that spot more than Stafford, regardless of what the Megatron-and-superior-line-play-enh

anced numbers say. Heck, if I won't say it, who will? Cruz will get his day, he doesn't need any advocation.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

Three problems with this. 1) Where is Aldon Smith?? Justin Smith is there, but Aldon Smith is top-5 in sacks. Shouldn't that be a pretty important factor for DE? Very surprising especially considering he is doing this for a 12-3 team.

2) Phillip Rivers, really? This is one of his worst, if not his worst season as a pro. Is he really a pro-bowl caliber guy when he is struggling and his team has been elinimated from the playoffs? I think Andy Dalton should definitely be in his place. His numbers are better overall and his team is one win away from the playoffs. AND he is a rookie. AND he is doing this for a "rebuilding" Bengals team. So many more arguments in his favor, yet the fans obviously voted for the more well-known and popular Rivers.

3) The big one, Victor Cruz. He is the #3 WR in terms of yards, not to mention his 99-yard play on Saturday. I know Fitzgerald is the more heralded player, but based on THIS SEASON, not overall careers, Cruz should get the nod. Also, Eli makes it and he doesn't?? What about Matt Stafford? HOW IS ELI AHEAD OF STAFFORD IN THE PRO BOWL?????????

The idea of having the fans participate always has its positives. But, as we can see, it has its downsides. There were several snubs in the pro bowl rosters.

The giants fans making comments should be defending Victor Cruz not Eli Manning. Only biased Giants fans would say Manning is having a better year than Stafford. Stafford has more tds, less ints, better completion % and passer rating, and a better win-loss record than Manning.

The 2012 Pro Bowl teams unveiled

do you even watch anyone else besides the giants? not clutch? how many times did stafford bring the lions back from double digits this year?

Enough times that he has the record, if I'm not mistaken. But aside from the fact that this necessarily means the Lions fall behind big often, this stat is equal and opposite to Eli's having the second-highest QB rating in the fourth quarter in the league, and to Eli being tied with big brother Peyton for the most 4th quarter touchdown passes in league history. Eli's clutch as they come. You could talk me into Stafford being very close to Eli - but not more so. And hey, when discussing intangibles like "clutchness," you have to bring history into account too - like the 2007 SB run. Clutch, clutch, clutch. Of course, Stafford is penalized unfairly for this by not playing so long, but the history's there.

what about the games when megatron was shut down and they STILL won? vs minny 3 catches for 29 but detroit still won. plenty of other games where the defenses put doubles on him the whole game and detroit used him as a decoy.

That's fair. It also doesn't take away all the games during which Stafford used Johnson as a lifeline. Stafford's an excellent QB. But he has the benefit of the best receiver in the NFL, and most definately plays the "deep/in endzone in double coverage to megatron" card a lot. Give Eli Johnson, and I guarantee his perfect deep balls (Eli throws one of the best deep balls in the NFL) get him another 5 TDs. Eli does NOT have a security blanket of Johnson's caliber...or Jenning's, or White's, or Steve Smith's...

Wow you must of NEVER watched the lions play before. never seen jeff sackus oops i mean backus or raiola or peterman or any other bum detroit has had on OL for 10 years or so. stafford has been sacked 8 more times than manning this year.

Who cares about the last 10 years? The Giants have had an amazing line, until last year, and this year it blows. It is objectively awful. Every singe player that hasn't been hurt sucks. And about Detroit's line? Profootballfocus.com, in its Dec. 8 rankings of the NFL's lines using their very cool formula (here's the link: ) puts DETROIT's line at no.13 (SEVENTH in pass blocking) and the GIANT'S line at 29th (THIRTY FIRST in pass blocking). Lions 7th best at pass blocking - Giants second to LAST in pass blocking - that's an incredibly substansive difference! Eli has been performing very well behind a HORRENDOUS line, while Stafford has been doing great behind a very good line. All being SACKED more proves is that Eli is much better at getting the ball out of his hand faster.

Don't really feel like writing more, but the Giants run game is dead last in the league, so if you're gonna use stats to say Stafford is better than Eli, I will use stats to show that NY's run game is WORSE than Detroit's, and thus Eli is hurt more by it. The Giants ALSO lead the LEAGUE in dropped passes - and take away some INTs from Eli due to drops, give him 12 picks even instead of 16, and he looks lots better on paper. And add the fact that Stafford plays in a DOME? Give me a break. Stafford is a great QB, but I am quite unconvinced that he is better/more worthy of the Por Bowl than Manning.

Jason Pierre-Paul is an absolute BEAST!!! Guy will develop into one of the best pass rushers the game has seen in quite sometime once he really learns the game...time to remove the "project" tag. He is playing so well Michael Strahan might want to jump back into a Giants uniform to protect his record and his Subway tv commercial spots
