Did Tom Brady miss practice for shoulder X-rays?

By Will Brinson

On Wednesday, Tom Brady did not participate in practice with the rest of the Patriots team. That wouldn't be entirely shocking, perhaps, but for the fact that New England listed him as out for "non-injury related issues" despite reports that Brady missed practice to have X-rays on his shoulder.

The report of the shoulder X-ray comes from Tom Curran of CSN New England, who reports that Brady "dinged" his shoulder late against the Dolphins, had it "checked for separation" and was told that "all is set."

Brady likely injured the shoulder when he took a shot from linebacker Cameron Wake on a one-yard touchdown throw in the second half.

But again, on the injury report, Brady's listed as a "non-injury issue," so it's a bit confusing.

There's also the fact that talking to the press on Wednesday afternoon, neither Brady nor Bill Belichick were asked about Brady's shoulder injury. (And, of course, neither one offered anything to the press, though Belichick using the phrase "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts every day would be Christmas" was pretty funny.)

That will likely change on Thursday, provided both/either are available to the press.

Like Bill would or will divulge any injury to his QB without skewing it to some degree. The guy is the "injury list" master. We won't know what is going on until after Brady has surgery.

Nothing wrong with that...every coach should do it. Most head coaches don't mind that at all because they prepare their teams to face the best. If the starter doesn't play then your team is ahead of the game.

This would save a lot for A/V Division at NEHQ.  Have Bill ask Roger to consider it.

Unfortunately, Roger's too busy investigating Steelers' funds being distributed to date-rape lawyers and Taliban support groups, but I think you're on to something.  Ah, Pittsburgh... God's country.

witchrunner: But, maybe the next step, in the interest of full disclosure, is for teams to tell the opposing team what each play is that they are going to run.

The hypocracy is that the injury reports are for Las Vegas so that they can set their point spread with more accuracy.

I'd be a disgruntled crybaby, too, if my beloved team signed a convicted felon to a ripoff extension, allowed a backup QB to make idiotic predictions to the media, and can't provide enough tissues to serve the millions of other whiners in the PA area. If you're lucky, they'll sign the fat walrus-looking coach to an equally idiotic contract extension, so you'll at least be able consistently predict underachieving results. Hey, at least Reid is available for complete seasons, something ($100 million richer) Vick still can't accomplish. Why don't they open a Kleenex plant in the Philly area? It would improve the economy, and millions of these crybabies could relieve their pathetic sorrows. "WAAAAAHHHH!!!! My team sucks! WAAAAHHHH!!!!!!"

Lets be fair

Not putting Brady on the injury list is not fair???  What I think is not fair is that teams like  the Pats, GB, NO & a couple others hog the good QB's all for themselves.  I think they should be shared with the other teams that haven't been able to develop their own QB.  That way all NFL players will have an opportunity to be on a winning team - that would be fair.  Who cares if someone is put on the injury report for getting an xray, what we need in the NFL is a equal distribution of talent.  I'm sure the govermnet can determine how the talent should be distributed.

Did Tom Brady miss practice for shoulder X-rays?

@dixemup, still bitter about the Eagles Super Bowl loss to the Pats huh ? And the Belicheat reference IS getting old as someone already said. Even many other Patriot haters have moved on from Spygate. Those who don't use that as a pillow and blanket to comfort themselves about their own teams' shortcomings, and to avoid giving the Patriots credit.

Teams are only required to state players injuries and chances of playing in the upcoming game correctly. If a team lists a player as "doubtful"or "out" and then he plays, the NFL has a beef with that. That is not the case here, so you haters can look elsewhere.
