Jackson

By Josh Katzowitz

DeSean Jackson had a forgettable season, and for that, he’s sorry. He regrets the way he acted when he so desperately wanted a contract extension, and he’s also sorry that it affected the way he played this season.

“I can admit to certain things affecting me during the season. I just kind of want to apologize or whatever the case may be,” Jackson said, via CSN Philly. “I probably could have handled it a little different, but now sitting here after the season’s over, I can just say I was able to put it behind me and really just fight for my teammates. Fight for this organization -- just really knowing something good out of this situation was going to happen. I was able to finally get to that and just move forward. We’ll see how it plays out.”

DeSean's forgettable season
Considering Jackson is a free agent and is coming off the worst season since his rookie year in 2008, it’s a good idea for the mea culpa. Because there were times when Jackson appeared like he wasn’t giving his best effort as the Eagles Dream Team season transformed into a frustrating year for everybody in the Philadelphia organization.

Jackson was asked if it’d be OK for the Eagles to place the franchise tag on him, and he said, “Why wouldn’t it? Hey, it’d be all right. God’s got a plan, brother. I’m going to roll with it.”

True, Jackson was underpaid this season at $600,000, but he held out during training camp and got benched in Week 9 as the Eagles were losing to the Cardinals. Basically, he just wasn’t a good teammate.

“I shouldn’t have allowed it to happen early on -- but I was able to finish strong, and that’s all that really matters,” Jackson said. “I did that. I’ve got my head coach, my offensive coordinator, my teammates, the owners, the whole organization behind me, so it’s not how you start. It’s how you finish.”

And, Jackson hopes, how sincerely you apologize.

P.S. Pay me is RIGHT !!!

Pay me ... Anybody who will buy this disingenuous attempt orchestrated by my agent to wipe my slate clean.

Pay me.  Pay me.   Pay me.

And in conclusion, I would just like to say, "Pay me".

Thank you.

Another talented athlete that can't play as a team player, only for himself. We've seen it over and over again with T.O., Moss,Holmes,Edwards, etc. When their team can't take it anymore they reluctantly get rid of them only to find after a year or two that the same thing goes on with the new team. Eagles have a lot of talent and the distraction outweighs the contribution of the player.

DeSean Jackson - Stevie Johnson

DeSean Jackson and Stevie Johnson - two you talented free agent receivers - and two players who put themselves in front of their team. They both will get paid well by someone (I think Jacksonville will sign Johnson), but how much do you trust that either one of these players won't have similar episodes once signed to long-term deals?

Hehe, this was after his agent told him how much money he can expect to lose as a result of his selfish behavior this season. I'm sure there is a team willing to give this bum a contract he doesn't deserve, but I would love it if he had to come crawling back to the Eagles on his hands and knees because he attracted little attention elsewhere. Make no mistake the entire world realizes what a punk this clown is and most team will want no part of it. I wish the same fate for the Bills Stevie Johnson. Two of the most selfish players I have ever witnessed play the game.....

Dear Iggles Fans...

I'm sorry I'm a punk and that I act like I have the maturity level of a 12 year old. I'm sorry I dragged down a team that had unlimited potential and that I played at less than half of my own potential because I am a cry baby. I am further sorry that I act like a street corner punk when catching a touchdown pass and that I don't respect anyone except for the almighty dollar.

Love....
Desean Jackson

PS....pay me.
