Let it go, if this is the main story your writing about at this time in the NFL season, you might want to look for another job soon.

Just to be sure here....are you saying that flashing the middle finger ("this type of behavior") is so concerning to you that a solution to the problem is to "drop the bomb"?
I would love to hear your viewpoint on other issues because your insight truly intrigues me. Cursing? What should the penalty be for that? Picking your nose? What about if it is in public? Passing gas? What if you giggle afterwards?

I simply find it interesting that people are making such a big deal out of a middle finger, hence, the sarcasm in my post.

J_Spratt, thanks for the comment and I may have digressed a bit in the close, but what you're saying actually agrees with my point: let's watch them play on the field, then shift our attention elsewhere. We don't need ANY interviews, much less tension charged interviews in the players' sanctuary immediately after the game.  With a month of prep time and coaching these can't saying anything intelligent or newsworthy, so let's just nix all these reporters chasing them down for a quote.  Have you watched how poorly most these guys do when they make them "analysts"?!?  Let them stick to hucking the pigskin and laying hellacious hits on other neandertards and leave the use of the verbal word to those qualified to use it. They should have an infinite amount of decompression time, since none of us should give a rat's netherparts what's going on in their noggins.

Since they are required to give interviews, and because they do seek them out anyway, they should required to behave professionally when they are doing them.  You don't see lawyers flipping off other attorneys when they ask them an irritating question in court, or teachers giving the digit to parents at parent-teacher nights, do you?  If they did, they'd likely be fired.  The "player interview" is a duty they must execute professionally, at least until we as a culture realize the truly limited value it has on the NFL experience, and do away with it.
