Michael Philbin hasn't been seen since Sunday morning.By Josh Katzowitz

UPDATED (5:43 p.m. ET): ESPN Milwaukee's Jason Wilde is reporting that the Packers players have been told that the body has been indentified as Michael Philbin.

Earlier in the day, here's what coach Mike McCarthy had to say: "The Philbin family is obviously going through a tough time. As we always have, we're family-first in this organization. We're supporting Joe and his family the best we can, and we're holding out hope that this comes to a positive conclusion."

According to WFRV out of Green Bay, Oshkosh police are not releasing the name of the body due to "family wishes." Foul play is not suspected, but the investigation of the incident is still under investigation.

From the Twitter account of Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, whose squad faces Green Bay this weekend: "Our prayers go out to the Philbin family and Packer nation for their loss."

UPDATED (5:03 p.m. ET):
According to the Northwestern.com, a body has been recovered from the river but no positive ID has been made yet.

Police said the body of a man between the ages of 20-25 was recovered in about 15 feet of water, 30 yards from the shore at about 3 p.m. Monday.

----------

Police in Oshkosh, Wis., are searching for a person who might have fallen through the ice and into the Fox River, and at the same time, police are asking for help from the public to locate the whereabouts of 21-year-old Michael T. Philbin, the son of Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

As the Northwestern.com reports, divers began to search for the missing person early Sunday when a man reported he thought he heard somebody crying out for help from the river about 2:30 a.m.

Michael Philbin was last heard from early Sunday while he was on a trip to visit friends at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He spoke to somebody on his cell phone about 2 a.m., and he wasn’t reported missing until about 8 p.m. Sunday. Police do not suspect foul play.

The police, though, are treating the missing persons report and the possible drowning as two separate incidents.

Philbin is described as 5-foot-11 and 155 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with any information on Philbin is asked to call Oshkosh police at (920) 236-5700.

In the past week, Joe Philbin has interviewed for the head coaching jobs for the Chiefs and the Dolphins.

"The Packers organization is aware of the missing person report regarding Michael Philbin, son of offensive coordinator Joe Philbin," the Packers said in a statement released Monday. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Philbin family during this difficult time. We ask anyone with information about Michael to contact the Oshkosh Police Department."

Report: Body of Joe Philbin's son positively ID'd

Wow! That is really sad that someone that young died when no one expected it. My prayers are with Joe's family and his loved ones. This is definately a tragedy that was very unexpected. This tradegy definitely makes me think about where I will be going after I die. I definitely feel bad about the loss of Joe's son, but I do know one thing that he would say now. Do not miss heaven. Many people today think that they are good enough to go into heaven, but the Bible says that we have to be perfect, just as our heavenly father is perfect. If you have ever lied, stolen, looked with lust, and used God's name in vain then by your own admission, you would be a liar, thief, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. God is a holy and just judge and he must punish sin. So if God were to judge you by the 10 commandments, he would find you guilty and that would mean that he would send you to Hell forever. God is good and loving where 2000 years ago he sent his only son Jesus Christ into the world. Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man and he lived the perfect, sinless life which neither you or I could live. 30-33 years into his earthly existence he died on the cross to pay the penalty of your sin. Jesus died because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. Three days later he rose up from the dead forever conquering sin and death. All you have to do is repent which means turn from your sin and turn to God and by faith alone put your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Put your trust in the finished work of Christ like you put your trust in a seat belt, which saves you in case you get into a car accident. Please, think of these things while you still have time, because there is nothing more important than your eternal salvation. Just like with Joe's son no one is garanteed a second breath but God wills that no person should perish but all to come to repentance.

This coming from a New York fan is irony at its best. Pot meet kettle.

Nope. Philly fans are the worst. Common knowledge. I mean you just had three Philly fans beating other fans after paying a homeless person to spray cleaning chemicals in their face. The worst.

Report: Body of Joe Philbin's son positively ID'd

As a father of two daughters, my heart goes out to the two girls and their families who will now be re-living a horrible time over the next days and weeks as Michael Philbin's past gets googled and published. As the father of a son, I can empathize with the anxiety of having to let your children make their own mistakes and hope that they don't do something that can't be fixed. Sounds like the Philbin family was fighting some demons.

Philsfan 1 your probably one of those PSU guys who thinks that  JoePa is a good guy and shouldn't have been fired. You probably also dont think its wrong to shower with adolescents. What is wrong with you? Anyone who has lost anybody importnat takes solice in those who care and sports nation is there for Green Bay and the Philbins' because thats what good people do. Go back to the shower and wait on your beloved coach to show up and give you a schooling from that juvenile university.

I can't fathom what the Philbin family is going through right now. I have two young ones with one more on the way and that would be my worst nightmare. Regardless of the mistakes that his son has made, he is still his son. Terrible news.
