More late-night fun with Tim Tebow

By Josh Katzowitz

Geez, it’s almost like this Tim Tebow guy is slowly becoming a nationwide phenom or something.

First, SNL spoofed Tebow’s love for Jesus in this sketch, and now we have two more clips to show you from two other late-night talk show hosts that poke a little bit of fun and make good use of some well-choreographed legumes.

The first is from Tuesday’s episode of “Late Show with David Letterman” (onCBS!), and it features a Top-10 list of Ten Little Known Facts about Tebow. It wasn’t overly funny, though the “Throws Left, Prays Right” gag was solid.

The second is from Monday’s episode of “Conan” when Conan explains during his monologue that he wanted to show a clip of Tebow’s overtime touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas but that it would have cost him “thousands and thousands of dollars” to do so. Instead, the play was reenacted by the Conan Peanut Players, and it’s a good time.

Common man get a life, the world is not against you or christans. SNL is there to enjoy not take as a political or religious statement.

More late-night fun with Tim Tebow

Man was created by God. Man has a sense of humor. Therefore, God has a sense of humor. I think God can take a joke. I pretty sure Tim Tebow can, too. And, YES, I am a church attending christian.

If you don't believe SNL intentionally portrayed Tebow in a negative light, then you don't have your eyes open. Except for his passing skills, there's nothing to criticize Tebow for... nothing whatsoever. But since he's a Christrian, the anti-Christian left is slobbering to see him fail. SNL made him look like a dork in that sketch to pander to that portion of their audience.

"SNL has also had an effect on elections. Voters had reported that political sketches that were shown on the show, had influenced them in the voting booth. The media dubbed this as the The SNL Effect. The so-called SNL Effect was observed during the 2008 presidential campaign according to Mike Dabadie. Two-thirds of voters who responded to a poll said they had seen a broadcast of politically charged content on SNL, with ten percent saying that it had made a difference in their decision. Barack Obama was the beneficiary of the political content, with 59 percent saying they did in fact cast a vote for the then-Democratic nominee."

Sure, there were parts of the sketch that were funny, such as Jesus wearing tubesocks and saying Belichick has horns, but the Tebow part was just part of the anti-Christian bigotry coming from the left these days. They don't touch the Jews or the Muslims, but the gloves come off when Christians are concerned.

Satire isn't always pure humor. It's often used to deliver political messages in the guise of humor.

Come on man - your kidding right? SNL has a broad audience both liberal and conserative  - I guess you don't understand tongue in cheek.... lighten up.

I liked the Letterman & Conan skits, but didn't like the SNL one so much. SNL went out of their way to portray Tebow in a negative light, as if he's just a dork. SNL hides behind comedy to make political messages, and since SNL and their audience are predominantly liberal, they wanted to portray a Christian in a demeaning fashion.
