Sounds like Fisher is leaning toward Miami

FisherBy Josh Katzowitz

By the end of Thursday, this post could be obsolete. Hell, it might be outdated by the end of breakfast.

Or Jeff Fisher could continue making us wait as he tries to figure out his next move and whether he wants to be the coach of the Rams or the Dolphins. While at least one person on Twitter speculated that Fisher was stalling so he could determine what new Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and owner Jim Irsay will do with coach Jim Caldwell, NFL.com is speculating that Fisher’s most likely option involves him taking his talents to South Beach.

Fisher interviewed with the Rams and Dolphins last week, and apparently since then, he’s been torn on which job to take.

Some believe the Dolphins can offer more money, but others think that the Rams already have a franchise quarterback in Sam Bradford that could make Fisher’s transition easier. Some theorize that Fisher isn’t all that fond of Bradford, while others wonder how enthralled he’d be with the Dolphins organizational structure. He might not like the possibility of St. Louis moving to Los Angeles, and, I don’t know, maybe he’s worried about how much of his money will go to buying sunscreen in south Florida.

But Jason La Canfora’s sources tell him that, “one of the issues holding up a deal between Fisher and the Rams is compensation … Fisher is seeking to be among the higher-paid coaches in the league, in the range of $7 million per season … Rams owner Stan Kroenke has not displayed a willingness to reach that stratosphere to this point.”

Either way, it seems like Fisher’s decision could come soon. Maybe even before you’re done reading this post.

Until then, check out this week’s latest coaching news and rumors post.

kurtNOTsosexy - Bush had 7 games of 50yrds rushing or LESS, and only 5 games clearing the 100yd mark. Suffered yet another injury (banged up his knee vs patriots in wk16) in what has become a yearly occurence for him. and no, he wasnt signed and brought into miami to be a 'darren sproles' type. if you recall, when he was signed, miami told him that they would be using him as an every down back, which is why he chose miami over a few other teams he was contemplating. and btw, its the good stuff, not monkeys.

'99 Rams...After taxes and agent fees, 7 mil a year doesn't exactly make you Warren Buffet...And I'm sure St. Louis is a very nice town, but let's be realistic...If you can live and work on the water in gorgeous weather surrounded by gorgeous people 10 months out of the year, why wouldn't you?

Agreed on the 95% garbage...We really shouldn't believe anything on this website until there's an inked contract and press conference.  I was convinced he'd be the Rams head coach by now, but alas, it looks like we might get him.  The other options are objectively poor.  I think the Fins are well past the point of trying to promone another team's assistant to our head coaching position.  For whatever reason, that strategy hasn't worked for us in the past.

If Fisher picks Miami, is that resounding proof that Freeman is an idiot, as he said earlier in the week that the Rams had a 95% chance of landing him?

Whatever he decides, I hope he decides today.  He seems to really be stringing this out, playing these two teams against each other.  Make up your mind already.

Reggie is not the answer? What the question?Daniel Thomas-what's he's position?Who was going to carry the load while he recovered?Asked & Answered!Bush was Originally brought in to be a "Darren Sproles" type.He didn't perform well........really, that's why he is up for comeback player of the year.Stopped game planning for him?You dont have to plan for a QB,your down to 2nd string RB,You really only have Marshall to keep up with, who else would you need to stop????I don't know what your "Smoking" but I'm guessing, it's not Monkey's!

You're a complete moron for using Bradford and Ryan Leaf in the same post....  ROFL     Bradford was banged up this year after playing under his second OC in as many years with no off season OTAs...   Do you even watch football?    Additionally, Bradford's rookie year, still behind a crappy O line was one of the best in history despite having no one of prominence to throw to.

and i see alot of people saying that the dolphins have better chance of winning. Hmmmm........lets see here, the dolphins play in a division with the jets, bills, and patriots. rams can go from worst the first in their division in one year, as it has been done a retarded amount of times in the nfc west the past 15 yrs or so. fins have a WAY tougher road to the playoffs than rams, regardless of record or talent on team. bills and dolphins have made a combined ONE playoff appearance since the conference realignment, with the '08 fins holdng a tie breaker over patriots in order to get in(better conference record by one game). and miami got completely raped by the wildcard ravens while playing at home in FL. didnt even score a TD.

so i guess while the dolphins have a better chance to win 5-7 games next season, it is clear that the rams have a better chance to make the playoffs within the next 2-4 seasons. and btw, reggie bush is not the answer at RB, he didnt perform well this year until defenses wrote him off and stopped game planning for him.
