Saturday night's Broncos-Patriots game didn't end in a climatic way: New England steamrolled Denver 45-10, and the drama was out of the game by halftime. But that didn't stop people from tuning in, as the CBS Saturday night affair brought in big-time ratings.

The average overnight rating/share for the game was 20.6/34, making it the highest-rated NFL divisional round game in primetime on any network in 11 years. (By contrast, when the two teams met in the regular season, the game drew a 19.5/36 overnight rating/share.)

It was the second-highest rated AFC divisional game in 18 years, trailing only the matchup between the Los Angeles Raiders and Buffalo Bills in 1994.

The peak ratings for last night game between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET, which shouldn't be a huge surprise. That's right about when the game was still competitive and right about when Tom Brady decided to unleash a pair of touchdowns to send the Pats into the locker room with a 35-7 lead.

Considering the vast differential in the score and the blowout factor, it's a real testament to the drawing power of Tim Tebow's Broncos and Brady's Patriots, especially when pitted against one another.

That, and the NFL's constantly growing popularity.

Despite blowout, Tebow/Brady 2.0 gets big ratings

Tebow has the problem that when hes behind, he cant seem to get meaningless yards and scores. One guy fooled everybody this way and even got rookie of the year! Forget he stunk up the place vs one of the worst pass Ds in the leauge at New Orleans, in prevent no less. Since he could not win anytime it mattered, his crap games and falling off as the season went on can be ignored to suit the myth.

Despite blowout, Tebow/Brady 2.0 gets big ratings

Are you people really this ignorant?  Thousands of people turned on the game because they wanted to enjoy Tebow getting his a$$ kicked.  They wanted to laugh at the stupid media who thought he had a chance.  They wanted to shove it in the face of the media so that they proclaim:  STOP SHOVING THIS TEBOW SH!T DOWN OUR THROATS AND ADMIT HE SUCKS.  And as expected, Tebow lived up to this expectation.  People didn't tune in to see him play, they watched to see him once again look like an inept kltuz.  I considered turning the game off and turning on a comedy but then I realized that there would be nothing funnier than watching Tebow try to play quarterback.  Despite the fact that the media love affair continues, fans saw how pathetic Tebow really is.  (And as for the spelling police who are out today, please forgive any spelling AIRS I may have made...hahahahha)

Tebow didn't help either...The game should've been a shootout but his inacapable of keeping up with the top QBs in the league...he needs to win a low scoring game because his high school sucks...the Steelers game was once in a lifetime game that will not happen again when playing a top team if he can't run a Pro style offense...

TT was not the cause of the loss.

Well he didn't help at all.  Another game thowing under 50%?  He hasn't thrown over 50% in an entire month.  He's had one game since December 4th with more TDs than turnovers.  In the 7 regular season games TT won, his opponent scored more than 15 points only twice.  Some of his wins this year include points scored of 18,17,17,16 and 13.  No, Tim Tebow is not the answer for any team.  Everyone outside of Florida and Broncos fans see that.  Being a leader can only take so far at QB with no throwing talent.  He may start in 2012, but he won't finish it out.  Can you really not see that?

All in all, not too bad of a season compared to what you saw with another QB.  Just like last year, when TT came in, he had some great games and some not so great but he will work hard and perfect his "craft".  Anybody that is wise with experience knows that it takes hard work to get to the level that Brady is and he will do that.  Tom Brady is special and he was made that way because he worked hard to perfect his "craft".   Anybody that knows football, knows where he was drafted and what scouts said about him and he got the opportunity to sit awhile behind Bledsoe.  TT will get there.

hey superbronco, maybe someday you will become a real fan.  Tom Brady won that game. He just tears defenses apart.  TT was not the cause of the loss.   He will show you and I will be there to torture you with it.

Yeah, I'm one of the unfortunate who decided to watch my team play instead of buying the pay per view UFC fight.  I heard the fights were really good, I should have watched them instead.  I wasn't one of those unrealistic fans either, I knew my team was going down hard even before the first drive.  Oh well, maybe we get a real quarterback next season?

Despite blowout, Tebow/Brady 2.0 gets big ratings

The ratings were so high because there were alot of Tebow fans that believed the hype and don't watch football at all including the playoffs.  Combine that with all of the Tebow haters and a primetime start for the game and major ratings is the result.  I guarrantee you that every Patriots fan was watching the game with the thought of smashing the Broncos and Tebowmania.  The Pats fans knew Brady was going to come out with a thrashing in mind not only for this game but every game there after until we win the SuperBowl.  The Patriots are on a mission to get that bad taste of losing in the first playoff game the last three years out of their mouths.  This is a great start to achieving that goal.Cool

a lot of people watched it, bacause a lot of peole watch the playoff. whether tebow is playing or not. denver was dommed for this game when they played the broncos in week 15. bellychick and his cohorts studied the tapes util they came up with a solution for the option. in a professional football team there are enough gifted athlethes to accomplish what you want them to. thisis what they did. formulated a plan, picked the right people, and blew it up. when they scored so fast, the o-line abd d-line for some reason was not able to function. so much of the time tebow got the ball and there was a pat satand next by him.
