2 shot at GA Applebee's after cheering for 49ers

It might sound like an Onion headline, but it's very much real: two men were shot at a Duluth, Georgia Applebee's after cheering for the 49ers during Saturday afternoon's victory over New Orleans.

Donald Ray Ayro was arrested Saturday after allegedly firing a gun at Christopher Middleton and Corey Adams in the parking lot of an Applebee's. Ayro allegedly took offense because Middleton and Adams were rooting for the 49ers, bought his meal from the restaurant and left in a hurry, saying he would return.

"The only thing me and my buddy said was, we were excited that the 49ers scored," Adams said per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "It was only one touchdown."

Ayro did return and allegedly confronted the two in the parking lot, where he shot Middleton in the abdomen (he was taken to a hospital in critical condition) and grazed Adams with a bullet.

It's a bizarre -- and hopefully not sad-ending -- story, one that is incredibly terrifying for anyone swinging into a southern restaurant off of I-85 to check out a football game. Unless you've already been to an Applebee's in the South. Then it's not quite as surprising.

Please. At no point is Ohio the armpit of anything.

The idiots we have in Ohio are all descendents of former Kentucky coal mining morons who migrated north looking for industrial work in the early 1900's because Ohio offered employment opportunities. All the slack jawed West Virginia and KY mouthbreathers forever tainted our gene pool.

So while there is some truth to that statement. The causality of such is directly tied to the shallow southern gene pool.

And you're starting to get them back. They're migrating back South because they want their neigbors to share their half witted jesus fueled racist thoughts.

Dude you sound like the people who hate the Kardashians. Why do you worry about Trent and why did Ingram looked like bust......in a three man rotation? I like the way you pay attention.....

There is no reason in the world for this to happen anywhere.  Living in Northern California things get out of hand sometimes at games but to shoot someone for rooting for a team is straight stupidity no matter where you are from.  To leave and come back and shoot someone is premeditated and I bet he regrets it now.  It's a shame that you can't root for your favorite team without your life being threatened.  Goes to show you that you have got to know your surroundings at all times.  Watch out for these fools that elevators don't go all the way to the top.  If you go to a Raiders game in Cali wearing the opposing teams jersey or hat chances are something going to pop off but you know that going in but that is at the Stadium not randumly shooting people for rooting for a team.  It should never come to that.

Someone WAS seriously hurt, but in any case, this is why I worry about the SEC.  Those kids aren't that bright.  I wonder about Trent Richardson, and all the other cavemen on those teams.  Could it be that Ingram wasn't aloud to "enhance" himself anymore, which is why he looked like a bust of 1st rounder this year? Oh, and the Saints, who can't play anywhere but down south.  Yes, I paid very close attention to the end of the article, and I'm convinced we don't need this culture anywhere in the NFL.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the 2 victims and their families.  Here's to sports "fans" down south growing some brains in the future.  Peace, I'm out!
