Eli's Hail Mary gives Giants 20-10 lead at half

With six seconds on the clock before halftime, the Giants declined to try a 55-yard field goal at Lambeau Field and let Eli Manning chunk a Hail Mary ... which ended up in the hands of Hakeem Nicks for an incredible touchdown that stunned Packers fans and gave the Giants a 20-10 lead going into half.

The sad part is, the Giants are up by 10, and it could be much more: a would-be Greg Jennings fumble wasn't overturned by Bill Leavy's crew, and the Packers went on to score their only touchdown of the game.

Manning's been great for the most part, but he's made some mistakes, including a terrible pass that was picked by Morgan Burnett. The Packers haven't been sharp at all, but it's not Aaron Rodgers fault: his receivers spent the first half acting like the pigskin was soaked in Vaseline.

It looks like, on its face, a classic case of a team that's "too well-rested" after having a three-week layoff. The Giants, on the other hand, are outgaining the Packers 311 to 170, and were it not for a few bad breaks and New York failing to find the end zone in both trips to the red zone, would probably be up several touchdowns.

If the Packers want a shot at repeating, they're going to need some serious adjustments at halftime.

Eli's Hail Mary gives Giants 20-10 lead at half

Spain's foreign minister on Sunday called on European and other global leaders to enact concrete sanctions against Argentina in a bid to prod the country to fully compensate Spanish oil firm Repsol YPF SA for the expropriation of its Argentine unit.Speaking ahead of a meeting in Luxembourg on Monday with other European Union foreign ministers, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo said in an interview that Spain would push the region to impose sanctions on the Latin American country that include removing its preferential trade treatment. The EU is Argentina's second-largest export market after the South American trading block Mercosur.Mr. Garcia-Margallo also said Spain would seek help from multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization to pressure Argentina to rejoin negotiations with Repsol, Spain's largest oil company, over proper compensation for forcefully taking control of YPF SA, Argentina's leading oil-and-gas company.Mr. Garcia-Margallo's comments come as Spain strives to marshal international pressure against Argentina after the former colony, under President Cristina Kirchner, issued plans last week to expropriate 51% of YPF, leaving Repsol with a 6.4% stake.Argentina insists it has the right to exert sovereign control over its energy resources, but Spain and other leaders have said the move is illegal and demanded that Argentina provide proper compensation for the takeover. Argentine government officials didn't immediately respond to calls seeking comment. Ms. Kirchner has previously insisted she won't back down to Spanish pressure and is acting to ensure Argentina's energy supply. Opinion polls indicate most Argentines support the nationalization of YPF.While declining to provide specific details, Mr. Garcia-Margallo said additional unilateral reprisals would follow Spain's decision on Friday to effectively restrict imports of Argentine biodiesel, valued at about 750 million euros ($990 million) in 2011, according to Spain's Renewable Energy Producers Association. In the meantime, he said, Spain would continue to try to bring Argentina back to the negotiating table with Repsol.Spain unsuccessfully sought a negotiated solution well before the Argentine government's move, he added. zby
