It's no secret that people were curious what the Broncos -- or, more specifically, John Elway and John Fox -- plan to do with Tim Tebow going forward. We mentioned the Denver problem in Sorting the Sunday Pile and early word out of Denver is that Tebow will be the starter in 2012.

Divisional Round Recap

Elway said so himself on Monday, and also added that he wants to work closely -- and personally -- with Tebow to improve during the offseason.

"Tim has earned the right to be the starting quarterback going into training camp next year," Elway said at his press conference Monday. "He made some good strides."

We mentioned this on the podcast: the Broncos are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place with their quarterback situation. They might not love Tebow and his "pure passing skills" (or whatever), but he led them to a division title in 2011.

Plus, there are no real viable options for Denver to upgrade. Look at the list that's Ryan Wilson put together, and tell us who exactly the Broncos are going to get to come to Denver who is a better option than Tebow. But because they currently only have two quarterbacks under contract, they will be shopping for another one in the offseason.

"Right now we've got two quarterbacks under contract," Elway said. "We have to obviously be in the market to find some more quarterbacks in free agency or the draft."

They certainly need to sign a veteran, but one of the best options out there (Brady Quinn -- no, really) was already Tebow's backup in 2011. And what veteran is going to want to come to Denver and have to compete with Tebow? Did you even see the Broncos fans last year? They're insane.

Drafting a quarterback isn't out of the question, but it's unlikely that there'll be anyone worth taking out there when Denver makes its first-round pick. It's just a terrible market to need a quarterback if you're sitting in Denver's spot.

So they did the smart thing and put all their support behind Tebow right now, minimizing the questions that will be asked over the next several months. Next up? Try to develop him as much as possible.

"There are things that I can add," Elway said. "Where I can help him ... I'm looking forward to it."

Elway: Tebow 'earned the right' to start in 2012

The blind haters cherry-pick all his bad games and bad stats. The blind lovers cherry-pick all the good games and good stats.

John Elway is not paid to be blind. As the article implies there are not many options for the Broncos to replace Tebow this off season even if they want too. Elway not being a blind hater/lover of Tebow is probably looking at the situation like this..."If I can get those low points in his game to be not so low...And if I can get those high points a little higher..this just might work...otherwise we'll just move on next year".

It's sad that any discussion of Tim Tebow drops the average IQ of the thread by 20-30 points because the blinders come on and people are incapable of being rationale.

Heck, there was even a poster on this thread that called Tebow a "douchebag". Really?? A guy that takes terminally ill children to every game (home and away) and spends time with them before and after the game, is a douchebag? A guy that helped fund a hospital and orphanage in the Phillipines is a douchebag? A guy that goes to prisions and tries to steer the prisoners away from a life of crime is a douchebag?

I think a big reason many hate Tebow is because they keep attacking and insulting him and expect a response which he never gives. He never fights back at his attackers. He just doesn't even acknowledge tham and it makes them even more furious. It makes them realize what pathetic haters they are when he doesn't respond. In the deepest darkest corners of their minds...they KNOW he's better than them and they hate him for it.

As a QB? Who knows. Let's give him more than 16 games as a starter like anyother QB would get.

No, the Texans aren't going to bench Schaub - they are going to trade him.  Yates proved that Schaub isn't as good as advertised.   It's not always about 4,000 yard passers....Winning will supercede popularity in Houston..

at was 1-4 without him.  He pulled off one major upset in the playoffs and ended up 1-1 there.  He did this as a second-year player and first-year starter.  He deserves to be given another shot at starting over a full season.
So are the Texans going to bench Matt Schaub for T.J Yates? Yates was far more impressive than Tebow was. Yates can actually complete a pass.

Drunkenirish: Who's going to beat out Tebow? Brady Quinn? Both the Broncos and Tebow are wed. Tebow's in the drivers seat pending safe passage or a wreck. It may get ugly before either a blessing or divorce occurs.

The best thing about this debate is that we'll get an answer. That's how the NFL works and why I love it. You win or you lose. It's not like pop culture where I might think something is absolute garbage and you can defend it by saying it sold five million copies. At this time next year Tim Tebow will either have flamed out or will have shown that he belongs on an NFL roster.

fRED'BURG: Chrisitianity embraces far more groups than Fundamentalists. I trust that your notion of "anti-Chrisitians" does not extend to other Christian groups who are not Fundamentalist and may not proselytyze or evangelize according to Fundamentalisty principles. I also trust your definition of "anti-Christinas" does not extend to religions that are not based on the Judeo-Christian heritage. How's your tolerance level these day?

Tim Tebow is not an nfl caliber quarterback.  Make him a TE or something.  Denver will never go anywhere with him as QB.  Everybody talks about him as if he's Joe Montana or a John Elway,  His numbers suck!!!! Quit talking about him, he sucks, for god sake!!!!
